So lets talk about my future build.

Just got my HPTuners in the mail!

So, time to start putting money aside for my build next year.

Here is what I have so far. Pistons are a big ???? for me right now. Also. Need a good wideband. Anyone have any suggestions for this?

Code:
Fuel injectors
 Siemens 60.0 (65.0) Lb/p - $219.99 (from intense)

Driveshaft Shop Level 2 - $799.99 (from intense)

Golden eagle Head stud kit - $109.00 (from Lighting Motorsports - LSM )

Cometic head gasket - $86.50 (from Cometic)

Modular Pulley System - $99.99 (from ZZ Performance)

Press On Pulley 2.8" - $59.99 (from ZZ Preformace)

Belt - $49.99 (From ZZ Preformace)

Pulley Puller - $99.99 (from ZZ Preformace) (might just rent)

Front Trans Mount - $149.99 (from ZZ Preformace)

Oil pressure gauge (mech) - $45.99 (from PFYC)

Hptuners - Already own

Other parts needed:

Gauge pod.
Wideband.
A/F gauge.

Total of known Parts - $2021.41

Pistons are up for grabs. Havent decieded here.

High Preformance Piston set - $694.82 (from GM parts direct) (no clue on specs could be the diamonds)

Mahle Powerpak Piston Kit - $409.00 (from importperformanceparts.net)
*These have a compression ratio of 8.5:1 They are pretty cheap. I can run a pretty small pulley and put up some

numbers there. Not sure if these are the way to go. Because the im not sure If the stock blower will push enough

air to take advantage of the low CR)

Diamond pistons - $???? (from Diamond)
10.5 CR. Should be fine with a tune. But a bit hight for FI

Im looking for around 270 Whp. I know there are no exhaust or intake mods. They will come after the build. The size of the pulley depends on the CR of the pistons I get.

Sounds like you have a well though out list, but my question is what are you going to use to make the power necessary for all these mods. A 2.8" pulley won't require that extensive mod list unless you've found a bigger blower.

My thoughts exactly...seems like a ton of work just to run a 2.8 on there. I would use that driveshaft money on a clutch instead...that should break before the shafts do unless you wheel-hop the **** out of it.

Ill more than likey go to a smaller pulley later. With higher CR pistons the 2.8 should be putting out pretty good power.

don't lower the compression, if you want forged internals I'd say up the compression to 10:1, the blower shouldn't take you high enough to suffer from it and compression will probably help a lot with making power.

drop the axles and get tractions mods so that you can "appreciate" your power more...
