Some GM performance info for you guys
I had a great conversation with my buddy’s dad last night. He happens to have been one of the head guys that created the LSJ and built it to what it is nowadays. He was the one who wrote the GM book on how to build a 300HP plus LSJ. He created the forged pistons that they ran in all the race motors along with many other things. He was a big influence in the 2006 Time Attack Cobalt and all of the salt flat ecotec cars that were ran, along with the 5 road racing Cobalt’s that GM had. I could go on and on about everything he said about creating the LSJ race motor but I wouldn’t have enough room. He also happens to be the one who created the option B dual pass end plate and created the idea of switching the cores around so that it cools better. I got to see one of the proto types that he mocked up the one in the GM book with the extra return on the opposite of the Intercooler. Man how I wish I could convince him to let me put it on my car. He said he would help me install my dual pass this spring along with a couple other goodies. I think it will be a great opportunity to for me to learn much more about our cars.
I was talking with him about what I should get for my car. His first suggestion was motor and transmission mounts. He said the ones GM put in were horrible and the only thing there going to do is break our cars to pieces. I can definitely say that I agree on this one. Obviously being a GM guy he suggested stage 3 as the next upgrade I should do. He speaks very highly of Intense Racing and says they make great product for our cars. He said he’s worked with them on many projects and they are great people. I will definitely be doing business with them in the future.
On and end note I had a great time talking to him and learned a lot of valuable information. He gave me books on everything you could ever imagine I don’t think ill have a problem with working on my car in the future. And now I’m looking forward to further modifying my car down the road. I just thought I would share this with you guys and see what you all thought. Figured it would be some good knowledge for some of you.

there is more to the back story of the TA cobalt and grand am cup cars. when you get bored, ask him where the cars were actually built by, and what shop was used for it
To add, the guy responsible for all of what he's talking about is on these boards.
Still, he told me to try it, I did, it worked, no beef. Awesome guy that John.
I kinda learned the hard way, I didn't realize who I was arguing with back when I wanted to build my own CABs, then when he e-mailed me, I saw the name, and was like, oh ****, uhh, my mistake
