No theres not. Not unless you custom it. I know a dood who has a S/C'ed 2.4 sunfire. pretty mean for an auto.

From the factory

2.0 S/C SS
2.4 NA SS
2.2 LT

those are the only flavors of the Cobalt in existance. I believe the 2.0 is the 2.2 but w/ different compression and such, hence the 2.0

There is a 2.0l Supercharged coupe model GM rates at 205 HP

And a 2.4l Naturally Aspirated coupe AND Sedan model. GM rates at 173 HP. available in manual and auto

THe only blown 2.4l engines in the cobalt are ones that did a custom install.
The 2.0l supercharged and 2.4l coupes look alot alike. The easiest way to tell the difference is to look at the fron and rear bumpers. The SS/SC has a lip on the bottom edge, the SS/NA does not.
Here's a good thread that shows the differences by one of our mods, Halfcent

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...hlight=bumpers

Also the SS/SC actually has a "supercharged" badge under the SS badge on the sides, but these guys debadge so much that I wouldn't wholly trust that

BTW, check out TNKYTuners dot com. It has alot of our members there and I'm sure they would love to have you roll with them. They're a good mixture of cars, not just cobalts

all are 2.2 based motors.. 2.0 is a destroke and 2.4 is a stroked.. if you want technical i can get technical but i figured this would suffice

yes yes, put up some pictures of your SRT4.

OH and quick question. How bad do SRT4 owners hate it when their cars are called Neons?

All the ECOtec motors are based of a common block designed for uses of 1.8-2.4L. The 2.0 is a detroked model of the 2.2 and by destroked it means that it carries a different crank to change the displacement. Compression has nothing to do with this. The 2.0L LSJ has a myriad of other differences not including just a change in stroke.

Compression on the 2.2 is a 10.0:1, on the 2.0 is a 9.5:1 and the 2.4 is a 10.6:1

The 2.0L is best equipped to handle larger amount of boost with its shorter stroke and lower compression.

What I think your trying to figure out though, since your SRT has a 2.4L is if a supercharged 2.4L would be faster than your turbo 2.4L. The answer is no, the 2.4L LE5 makes more power turbo than your A853 does but keep in mind your 2.4L comes factory with a turbo and the 2.4L LE5 does not so I wouldn't use this as a direct comparison.

Hope this helps.

SRT4s come with a 2.4 turbo? Hmm I dunno why, but I always thought it was a 2.0 Turbo. Silly me for never asking or looking that one up.

Bump for some damn pics! lol

What's with the headlights?
Are those colored covers? or are they yellow/gold bulbs...or what.

Red SRT4s are the only way to go. Nice looking car.

Well I can see your actualy not here to start crap so let me be one of the first to say WELCOME! And your car looks HOTT! Not sure about the yellow lights but thats not hatefull looking at all!

BTW their are turboed the 2.4 VVT ECOTEC starting to pop up and they are supposed to be nasty! No numbers that I've seen yet and they're custom jobs so don't expect to see them all over the place.

I agree that the Cobalt SS looks better, but the SRT4 has more capability out of the dealer lot. It's a trade off, but both are good cars that import owners despise

Sick man, red/black is a great combo. If you get tired of the yellow lights, paint the insides black, thats the big cheap mod we do for the lights. It gives a real solid and agressive look to the lights. And damn that FMIC is HUGE! lol
