lookin through the dyno numbers. wheres the torque? 280+ whp, and crap for torque. what the hell are you guys doing?!?!!?

im just seriously lost as to how some of you are tuning the cars, and the abrupt lack of low end fun you're missing out on.

dunno, just me thinking.

If I had the knowledge to tune, I'd tune my car to have torque atleast equal to my bike. Wait I can't, it's a honda...

Besides, our engines aren't torquey to begin with ...but is also somewhat the reason why we make power almost at 7000 with stokc cams.

Srt4's rev to I think 6000 stock...and their peak power is below that....but their tq is crazy high

ah, someone pays attention

brad, you can get torque out of a honda. just requires double the hp. and you might break 300 ft lbs.

Didn't you post up some timing recommendations a few days ago? Or is this totally unrelated?

315wtq lol. but my low numbers are due to lack of fuel and low timing right now. did put down over 270wtq with the blower though.
I need cams too, my car was hitting peak hp at 6k rpms and falling off after that

which is why, im playing spend money next month.

dropping the cylinder pressures down.
and you had a 2.5 so you don't win

omega. depends on how you look at it. there is more to it than just a simple table change.

True. When it's tune time for me, I'll be doing alot of logging and pissing around with the car. No tune project is as simple as changing a few numbers.... it's always an endless cycle.

I'm going to be taking a different approach to my entire modding process. I'm not shooting for the highest power or torque, and not going for the quickest quarter. I'm looking for drivable, reliable and efficient (-ish) power... hence my endless search for the bottlenecks in our system.

you got it. it's good to see someone realizes that this isn't an easy process.

It's great that your pointing this out. Too many kids buy HPT, get in a panic, fool with the numbers and end up blowing up their car.
Tuning might always be a learning process, but having a basic understanding and alot of time and patience goes along way!

Because "by design" short stroke engines (let alone, little ones) don't produce much torque. Adding fuel/air tops out pretty quick as does timing solutions, so if you want a torque-monster, you'll have to stroke it. It's expensive and throw your warranty out the window.
