Spark Plug gap changing hp?
Hey guys,
My car was spuddering so i checked my plugs and found out that the one had a big crack in it. So i bought one new one and changed it. Right now i have stock pulley, stock injectors, and tune with bolt ons. i only bought one plug cause im just waiting for my option b tank to come in the mail to put my stage kit on. anyway i always gapped my plugs to .034 but i changed it to .040. well before i would just mat it in first and instently i would break my tired loose now i cant what so ever? im just wondering in the gap would hae anything to do with that?
Thanks Kevin

If your plug gap is to small or too big. Then yes it will effect performance. As to how much, I'm not sure if it would make that much of a difference where it feels like you have lost ALOT of power. But it could if you were getting spark blow out from too large of a plug cap. And if the gap was too small it wouldnt ignite the fuel completly.
I'm guessing someone else can jump in that has had experience with this area. Hope i helped.
