SS/SC Won't Start

Well I am the original owner of an '05 SS/SC. Bought it with 17 miles on it and had no problems with it in the 91,914 miles since... Until yesterday morning I went out to start up for work and just a click. Checked the battery at Checker and Auto Zone both said it was good. Fuses all look good. Even put the battery in the wife's Jeep just to make sure it could pull a load and it started the Jeep no problem. I've run out of ideas of what could be wrong, any clues?

Pop the clutch and if it starts then it's the starter but check all the lines to the starter make sure they r all tight

won't jump-start or pop-start? Push it down a hill and get up to about 10 or 15 mph then pop the clutch out in second (you can do it at lower speeds in first but it can be tricky) and see if it will start that way. If it won't pop-start then check for spark and fuel. If it does pop-start then it is the starter.

Sounds like a pretty classic starter problem, so that is what I am going to guess is the problem.

Sounds to me like the starter. The bendix will pop out and that is the click you are hearing and the motor is not turning. I vote the starter pull it out take it to the auto parts store and have them test I can just about bet thats your problem.

Pop the clutch in second going 5+ mph, if it starts you know where to look.

And a little more insight on your PM the car would still turn over if it was the crank sensor.

You can hit the starter with something solid while someone turns the key it will most likely start and save you a tow charge.

Have tried this as well, to no avail. I kinda miss my '68 Mustang. Yeah I had to work on it at least once a month... But at least I could do the work myself

The obvious place to look would be the starter. If you have access to a machine that does amp-draw test, see if it gives you a low amperage draw. If it does, it's 90% that you need a new starter. I doubt it's the crank sensor, cause it wouldn't even turn over. The pcm doesn't like turning the car over if it doesn't know the position of the crank.

check fuel pressure.

Check fuel pump relay, not the fuse. Mine was barely loose and my car wouldn't start

The pcm doesn't like to send fuel or spark if that sensor is bad. It has no problems turning over. Just an fyi

His car just clicks when he tries to start, no crank, how is that fuel related?

I think the ignition fuse blown will cause it not to crank.

Have you tried popping the clutch?

I'm sorry, I thought this was a thread for ideas to why a car won't start. If it clicks, there may be spark. It's safe to say it has air. Last part of the equation for combustion is fuel. I was having a similar issue, offered a simple thing to check. This is why I don't post tech **** anymore. Everyone is always right

Hey man I was just stating that he was just saying it clicks not cranks... There is no motor movement, therefore there is no air moving into the engine, nor fuel for that matter since it is not rotating.

Thank you to all in the community who offered suggestions as to what may be wrong with my car. Turns out it was the starter got it fixed and it now starts no problem! Thank you again to all who responded.
