You have done exactly the same mods as me, and you have the same year and color car as me! Cool! How do you like the limo tint on the back of your car? Do you have a GPS? If so, I would like to know what your top-speed goes to after stage 1 is installed. I got a GPS confirmed top speed of 141 mph with a bone-stock configuration. I did the airbox mod and installed an AEM dryflow filter. After the airbox and filter mod, I was able to pick up an additional 5 mph top speed (now 146 mph). I am interrested in knowing how fast a state 1 cobalt can go (gps confirmed...because the factory speedometer is a little off).

why stage 1 though. Just kind of wanting to barely dip into the performance?

Well I'm gonna put nates 2.9 later on in the mnth or in febuary. So $385 for stage 1 $50 for pulley ( I have a hub) $20 for stage 2 belt is a little cheaper than buying stage 2 plus I will get more performance than the stage 2.

uhh no, then why would s2 come with a new flash dude i went from s1 to s2 and i had to be reflashed. I think your way is fine as long as tuning is involved but tuneless i would be weary.

you shoulnd't have needed to get reflashed. if you buy the stage 2 upgrade kit it doesn't come with a new code for a reflash. the code basically only comes with the injectors.

yep cause the instructions that it comes with is for the stage 1 and stage 2 and the code that you call for either is the same. I have done plenty of research on it. trust me it's the same

I just called a Saturn Dealership and they said that the stage 1 re-flash is diff from stage 2 re-flash because of the smaller circumfrance of the pulley. i dont think there the same re-flash

If it's the same tune........you would actually lose perfmance/hp just switching to stage one (since you would be running really rich)...which is stupid on gm's part

I am 98% sure the tunes are the same.

Smoken Jenson you should always fill your car with premium.

I don't see how you gain any performance then with stage 1 on a stock car. The computer can compensate but I mean.............................................. ............................3.4 pulley on a stage 2 tune? That's rych bytch lol

Stage 1 and stage 2 have the same tune, no question. With the stage 1 your redline will raise to 7000rpms, but you will be running rich, extremely rich. put nates 2.9 on as soon as possible. It will lean up the tune. Also, you will not need a new tune with that size pulley. Without the 2.9, you might be a little disappointed with just the stage 1 tune.

Yeap. I remember when I first got stage 1, and got on it hard, it was running sooo rich, the exhaust was nasty.
