Question stage 2 & 2.8??

ok...i'm fairly new at this but i've been read up for a while now but still can't find exactly what i'm after. I have GM stage 2, 2.8zzp pulley, and CA overdrive all with stage 2 tune. I basiclly just would like to know if this is safe or if i need 60lbs injectors. i have an wideband a/f gauge and at idle it reads between 14.7-15.2 and i've seen it as low 10.2 when i'm getting on it. do i need to make adjustments?

You can run the 2.8 on 42's and the GM Stg2 Tune, but it's not efficient or "safe" as some would say. You should upgrade to the 60's and get a custom tune done. A buddy of mine had the exact same setup you do, did the 60's and a tune, and said he noticed a HUGE difference in performance. So, you could run that setup if you want, but i would strongly advise getting the 60's cuz ur maxing out those 42's with that 2.8 pulley

I'm not sure if there's anyone in PA that has the HP Tuners, but WickedSS2005 in the Dayton are here in OH has them. I would get in touch with him if there's nobody in PA cuz his toons are sick. If you get a custom tune, it can be set back to the GM tune as long as the person who does it saves the original tune file. So if you have to take it back, they can reflash your ecm and you'll be golden. That's what I'm doing

Akron is about 15 mins away from me...10 with my lead foot lol. And NO, your warranty wouldn't be shot if you were to get the GM tune refalshed before you took it in to the factory. But...seeing as how you have the ZZP 2.8 and that overdrive pulley, you'd have to change those back out to the stock overdrive pulley and the GM Stg2 pulley. So in short...get a custom tune done and if you have any problems, reflash the ecm back and put the stock parts back on and GM will be none the wiser.

You idle / cruise at stoich, which is 14.7... Meaning that is normal. You should be in the 10s, like you are, when getting on it.

Not at idle or cruising.... the command on the stg 2 tune is 14.7 but you will see anywhere from 14.0 to 15.4 and at WOT its 10.6 but will go up or down a little. those are not going to change bc you have a smaller pulley. the injectors will flow more.. My guess would be your injectors are near max but who knows... ive seen 2.8 pushing the injectors to only 19 or 20 m/s and some pushing 23m/s... my 2.9 is only at 17m/s...

but in all 60's would be a good upgrade... just to be safe... and i know a guy that is closer to you if you want a tune... he lives in youngstown his name is bika... pm him. he will get you all setup.

there are a couple guys in PA that have HPTuners.... send them a PM. BriantheLion & Rodimus Prime, since you have a wideband... that'll help them to be able to tune you easier. i agree with the 60s, get them and hit up one of those guys

Dont spend your money on a clutch and flywheel... Its not needed for what you have.

if you are holding 10.x afr at w0t, you may not need 60s, just need a good tune. I used to think that 2.8" required 60s on all cars until i tuned a few that appeared completely safe on the gm 42#s.

if you are anywhere in the central or western pa area I could tune you if you want. I seem to have alot of luck with cars owned by people with names like schaffer
