Stage 2 + 2.9 dyno...

Just had my car dynoed.

I am runnning a stock GM Stage tune with a 2.9 inch pulley.

On an all wheel drive dynojet i put down 227 hp and 210 tq.

All the local guys call this dyno the heartbreak dyno. But i'm pretty satisfied with the numbers. I never got a stock dyno run with the car but i like the gains and it is definately a lot better than stock.

breathe ****.... engine needs to breathe. Intake and full exhaust will help alot. i was running intake S2 with 2.8 and it felt fast but once I threw on the 3 DP its was so much smoother.

I definately figured an exhaust would help out a lot. But how much better is an aftermarket intake from a stock one. I've heard that the airbox mod provides similar gains to an aftermarket intake.

that's a bit too low. I would say a 2.9 with S2 should make 235WHP and 215TQ, what octane fuel where you running?

next time dyno with 94 if it's available around you...you'll be suprised how much octane improves power on these vehicles.

those numbers are low for stage 2. I only have a GMPP cat-back on my car and got 223hp

but u gots to admit ur exhaust dyno is odd. I believe it but 12 hp from the GMPP exhaust is odd.

In a little more than a week I'll be dynoing same setup except I got intake and exhaust . I'm very curious to see results as I had 234hp/202tq with just intake and exhaust.

It all on the type of dyno and its calibration. I dyno'd 214whp and 199ftlbs with my current mods. I call the Mustang dyno I go to the heartbreak dyno too man!

Ya'll have some low numbers..The stg2 alone is supposed to bring you up to about 240-245hp..People are dynoing stock at anywhere from 210-225hp to the wheels. Then, I guess it could be elevation, weather, and type of dyno used.

It's not so much the number, it's the increase you're looking for. Good luck dervin.

Absolutely right. I saw a decent increase in power from my dyno with just an intake, and I saw a massive increase in torque as it came on over 1000rpms earlier and had a nice fairly flat line across the entire rpms range.

a dyno is a bench mark. you cannot compare dyno #'s of this car to another car unless they were on the exact same dyno. you take this car to three different dynos in a the same day and you would get the different #'s.

I don't mean to high jack. I went to put my 2.9 pulley on and the bolts wouldn't come out. I was using an impact wrench and the belt was still on. Are they reverse threads. Any suggestions?

Pampena Motorsports, sweet. Have you seen Ray's 3000GT VR-4? I come from the 3000GT platform where Ray Pampena used to have the record for highest horsepower 3000GT. He's an excellent mechanic and a god among men when it comes to the car platform . But in all honesty he's good people.

Yea Ray is a cool guy. He always hooked us up on dyno day prices. And his 3000 is sick.
