Stage 2 belt squeek

Been dealing with a squeaking belt ever since about 2 months after doing a 2.8 pulley and stage 2 belt. If I push down on the idler pulley while the car is running, the squeaking stops. I changed the idler pulley, but to no avail. I have retightened all of the tensioner assembly bolts as well (actually helped for about half a day). It goes away while driving, no loss of boost, good power, it just squeaks pretty loud while idling only. I have resorted to using belt dressing/conditioner for the time being, until I can figure this out. Any of you other 2.8 or stock pulley guys have this issue? I'm thinking about switching to the oversized pulley and stock length belt. Suggestions appreciated!

Very embarrassing! Not exactly an intimidating sound to bystanders, lol.

I've had that happen to me before and it ended up being the belt being off the crank pulley just a tiny bit. Hard to even notice. I had to crawl under my car to actually see it. Maybe take a quick look to make sure its on all the way.

What I was going to suggest. I got my belt one "tooth" off on a pulley swap one time and thats how it sounded.

Maybe try the ZZP adjustable tensioner? If you're certain the belt is not off, then perhaps the added tension the ZZP tensioner offers might do the trick.

Related note: do you have any black powdery buildup on your supercharger snout or on the pulley itself? That would be a clear indicator of the belt slipping a bit due to lack of tension.

Heres the missing pic from that page:

shouldn't be slipping off with a 2.7 or larger tho idk.
see when i first noticed this i sprayed some wd40 onto the supercharger snout, where the black plug was or w/e, and the squeek would cease for that time. then start it up later and squeak squeak squeak lol.

shouldn't being the key word. Wouldnt hurt to check for signs of it if nothing else seems to be out of place.

If some one is slipping on a S2 belt and a 2.8 they need a new belt...

Thanks for all the suggestions. My car has 50k miles on it, but the belt only has about 5k miles on it. I'll crawl under it and have a look at the crank pulley for sure. It sure would be nice if thats all it was. I don't think its slipping since it holds a steady 17lbs boost with no fluctuating, no change in whine pitch, no dust, etc. I wonder if the guys running an oversized idle pulley instead of the S2 belt are having the same issue?
