Stage 2 questions

Hey guys im looking to get a stage 2 kit for my lsj but i have a couple of questions. What kit do you guys prefer? GM kit or ZZP kit, as of right now im leaning towards GM because they do the tuning (reflash) for you right? I have a friend that works at the dealership and can get it fairly cheap. How is the performance between the two? If you can just give me some pointers and opinions that would be great thanks guys

Gm's stage 2 is really rich in the top end. If you want warranty go with gm, I would suggest zzp or Ottp if you want better performance.

Or if you can find a custom tuner and just buy the injectors, pulley, dual pass endplate, second h/e then that would be better. Or find a trifecta dealer close to you

If you go w/ GM.. get the stage 3 since your friend is hooking you up..

If you go ZZP.. get the stage 3 and just get the H/E b/c you'll get it eventually

Gm stage 3 has the a/c disabled. Trifecta crack the gm stage 3 tune and turned the a/c back on. If you go with gm stage 3 I would highly recommend trifectas gm stage 3 if you want a/c

Go with ZZP for better performance... Gm is way overpriced but if your looking to stay under warranty go with that but for performance go with ZZP

ZZP all the way, and they send you a PCM with a tune on it, or you just mail yours in. I have Stage 3 and I love the power over stock.

It's hit or miss with Ottp. I've gotten things right away from them and I've wait a few months for things. Depends on what you order

see my biggest concern is the tuning i mean i live in nebraska lol i went in and talked to a place and they gave me a quote of like 6-750 depending on dyno times and all that ****. i dont even know if thats worth it after buying the kit and everything..

how is the PCM zzp sends with the kit is it even worth the extra money or am i gonna run into problems? thanks guys really appreciate it!

You could just order a trifecta tune and their cable. You log the car with their cable, send the data and Vince updates your tune.

I'm on the ZZP tune they send, and it's fine. They would not offer it if it's not good IMO. ZZP hands down is the best in the business for Ecotec's. And a dyno tune for 600+ IS BS! I can go to ZZP and have 3 pulls and tune for 115....

Well ZZP includes the the tune in their kit price, so the only thing you gotta do is mail them your PCM. They are out of stock of them atm(I know I need a new one....) And they do work with you really well about the car, Tim has been helping me a ton with mine as it was a nightmare from getting it back from the dealership who F'ed it all up.

Yeah you send them your PCM, they tune it for what mods you buy in the kit, and they can adjust slightly for what mods you already have. I have a diff flash than almost everyone else, as Tim had just made a new tune based on the Injen intake, and I have a K&N and it worked great! My trims are spot on, and I can get over 40mpg on the highway with about 260 whp.

I'm ZZP S3
2.9
60's
S3 H/E
Bad mab header
ZZP 2.5 catted DP.
And a Flash from Tim at ZZP based on a little different intake.

Car now also has
ZZP S2 clutch
upgraded TOB
Fidanza flywheel
and a B&M STS

I would guess send the pcm in, 1 or 2 days max turn around and sent back to you.

I'm not really believing the 40 mpg on a supercharger setup with 260 at the wheels. Turbo cobalts don't get that good of gas mileage and they don't have parasitic loss to deal with

I drove from my house to detroit which is 93 miles on just over 2.2 something gallons of gas. Now the 260 is a guess, but I have exhaust work on a full S3 setup. It will be dyno tuned soonish.

I don't just use the econ cuz i know it's off, but even after going 93 miles on 2.2 gal thats really damn good.

Go ZZP Stage 3....If your thinking of getting a 2.9 then your 42lb injectors are gonna be Maxed out, I would get 60's right off the bat(I wish I would have done that) So that way if you want to Pulley Down you can, The ZZP Stage 3 Kit will give you 60's and it is the Best Deal for the amount of HP that you get, I have the GMS2 Kit and some other MOD's and I'm Wishin I would have just went with the ZZP Stage 3 Kit off the Bat, But I was worried about losing my Warranty.

Dude, I can't Believe that your gettin that kind of Gas Milage on 260WHP!!! I get 25 MPG and I dont even have the Power that you do!

I believe that cuz my fuel trims are still a little off and running rich I made 36.9mpg and eventually went up to 37.4 highway cruising its all about your tune.

Im also on 60's, and a 2.8

Your DIC will be skewed with bigger injectors.
