Hey guys tomorrow morning I am dropping the car off at the shop for them to install the GM Stage 2 kit. I have a few questions though.

What kind of boost should I bee seeing with a 100% stock ss s/c cobalt with the stage 2 kit.

I just recently changed my exhaust. I got a custom 3 inch exhaust system made with a magnaflow muffler, deleted the cat and today I got a CEL. I am assuming its because of the o2 sensor being in a different position, or maybe the cat not being there. Is this a big deal?

I am paying a little over 1k for parts and labor, is this reasonable? Thanks for your time.

 

15-16psi, 1000 is retarded, cel is fine with a cat delete you retard, not a big deal, i'm a tad drujnks.

 

I guess I am retarded, but when I got the car back from the shop there was no CEL. After driving it around and waiting awhile, I got the CEL. But I am still assuming its from the cat delete.

I have 3inch custom exhaust with a magnaflow muffler and I am really hopping to hit 15psi tomorrow with the stage 2 kit. If I don't I am gonna be pissed. Thanks guys.

hey Zach let me know if they reflash your car....I got my stage 2 (installed for $360) and the shop is say that the GM website is down in order to do the reflashwtf

 

you should have just installed it yourself its not hard

 

Are you talking about the exhaust? I got the exhaust done for 300 dollars which I think for custom exhaust, magnaflow muffler, and exhaust tip, with perfect welding is a hell of a deal. Besides, my back is really messed up so I can't do my own work.

If your saying I should of done the stg2 kit myself, I need my warranty otherwise I would be going with a much much better setup, like I will be later on down the line

Sweet thanks for the information guys, I am heading out in about 20 minutes to drop the car off. Since they have other things to work on its going to be there almost all day, but its fine because I will sleep most of it away haha. I'm sure there going to call me at about 3 or 4 california time saying its done and I'm dropping it off at 9am lol.

Hopefully I will notice a big increase for 1000 dollars out the door. Wish me luck guys.

Haha no worries bro, you were drunk, we have all been there before. It looks like where I am at currently. I have a 2006 ss s/c cobalt thats sexy black, with 50% tint on the windshield and side windows, and 5% all the way around. Custom exhaust, cat delete which is giving me a CEL but I don't care and a magnaflow muffler and tip. With those "mods" lol, I am getting 13lbs of boost in Elk Grove California on the highway. I believe its 13 tops because it was the big line after the 10 and before the 15 and the little lines are 1.5 each I think, sooo that equates to 13lbs.

I should have the stage 2 in about 2 1/2 hrs, but ya never know, they might screw something up. If I dont hit ATLEAST 15lbs of boost at redline im going to be really pissed, and if the dealership doesn't reflash the ecu/ecm whatever you guys call it, im going to be even more pissed.

I will keep you updated and letcha know how it goes.

Also, for exhaust, my exhaust is extremely loud as it is now, if I add headers and a downpipe I am assuming it will become even louder? I have 3inch all the way back now, with no cat and it sounds good but is loud, just wondering if headers/dp will make it to loud without a resonator.

I dunno why, but there is no raspy tone to my exhaust, its VERY deep, im talking muscle tone deep, its weird.

Anyways, I will update this at 3 or so when I get my car back.

 

Your stage kit and install is a little high . Crate engine Depot sells stage 2 for 550 , and install should be between 2-300 tops. MAKE SURE you get your parts back ... including the BIT for the special blue bolts .
