Stage 2 vs. Stock

Do you guys see a severly noticeable difference with your stage 2? (Still answer if your running as low as a 2.8" or up pulley) I see peoples signatures on here and i'd think you guys should be running in the mid to high 13's w/ it right? I mean if the other guys who are decent drivers are running mid 14's wouldn't that at least take a second off the 1/4 mile?

with stage 2, and intake, you should run low 13s. stock is mid 14s.

you gotta have traction before you can get the full effect of the stage kits... so at the track you wont see a huge difference. get some traction and you will see some good numbers.

all i know is a guy in an evo 8 that I walked on hard tonight said and i quote. "Damn that thing is fast! Is it the Cobalt?" haha, i love stage 2! Its a completely different car, it is just mean now.

It feels a lot faster but not low 13 fast, maybe mid to high 13's. But im also at 5500 ft so my 13 fast is really 14 fast. Altitude sux!

I was wondering because last night this dude took me for a ride in his 12 second evo. That thing FLEW! He said he ran a 12.8 which is about the same as that dude on our site so I can only imagine how good it must feel to go that fast in a cobalt. I will admit though, after being in both that I would have given my left nut for an evo. Ahh

I hit 13.8 with Stage 2 (stage 2 pulley) and Intake/exaust. The cobalts problem is traction. I hit the 13.8 at like 105 but a 2.35 60 foot. If I could get that 60 foot to a 2.0-2.1 I would be mid 13's. I will be ordering the CAB's next week and probably a header and will be hitting the track up one more time. IM done at that point speed wise. Only way I would go any faster is if they find a way to do a hot swap pulley for the GM stage 2 hub, that I could pop the stocker and probably a 2.8 in and out in a few minutes for warranty work and such.

Oh and I raced an 05 STI modded last night with atleast intake/exaust. I was pulling up to the light where he was parked and it turned green before I got there. He saw me though and he didnt launch off but he was making his BOV go. Well He saw me start to edge (I wanted to get right next to him) but he punched it. I punched it right after him and this was like 35-40ish. By the time I hit 110 I was cutting in front of him to take the turn. I know he was in shock at that point. He followed me to the turn and we ended up pulling up next to one another. I was hoping he would put the window down but he wouldnt even look over at me LOL. Oh well, he know he got owned.

I ran a 13.9 with traction problems with stage 2 and a catt back.
I think the car can go 13.3-13.5 if I can get rid of the wheel hop and get my 60' time below 2.1.

The car pulls like mad in 2nd and 3rd gear.

Later.

Evo's can be nasty. The thing is for some people they are out of manys price range. I like the fact I paid about 10,000 less and put an ass whoopin on a stock one the other day. It kinda makes you laugh. AWD is nice, but not worth the 10 G's to me.

with evo's you are really paying for the handling...those things handle like a dream and its just a plus they take extremely well to mods . I personally would buy a mustang gt and put a blower on it before i got an evo...itd be about same price range total, but about 200hp more

wrong but nice try, you act like taking tenths off your 1/4 mile time is nothing, it takes more than just better air flow and a smaller pulley

Your an idiot, learn how to drive.

your 1/4 mile times SUCK, 14.8 stock, thats ****. People have done like 14.3-14.5 stock, there are people on THESE forums that have proof and slips to prove it. Dont act like you know what you are talking about.

BTW, when i get my intake (2 weeks) and stage 2, by then I might be getting stage 3 the way the backorders are lol, ill run my car on slicks, guarentee low 13s.

Thanks for coming out though.

thanks for confirmation Good driving can do wonders, and intake/exhaust CAN take away 10ths of seconds off 1/4 mile times.

dude settle the hell down do you notice that he said better air flow and a pulley? HE DIDN'T SAY SLICKS. he also could be at elevation, you have no idea. And he is right you are not going to drop a second by just airflow and a pulley you are going to need traction where your little slicks come into play. I still doubt you will drop to low 13's. An entire second drop is ALOT.
