I've been told by few different people that my set up is good for now running a 2.7 with 42's and the re-tune, but then others are saying its a set up of doom and im going to blow a piston, its been running great since i've got it but, any input?

 

2.7 and 42's is definitly not a good idea man!!! i was running 42's on a 2.9 pulley at 110% duty cycle, so your gonna definitly need some 60's man!!! your car will be fucked up if you run that set up ur talking bout with 42's!!!!

 

god dammit then why the hell they sell that set up like that haha this blows

 

Stage 3 from GM?

 

yea gm is ******* stupid and way to cheap to put 60's in the kit lol...look at new era performance they are only like 200 for them there and thats the cheapest i have seen

 

the GM stage 3 isn't a 2.7 pulley.

I have been running a 2.7 on my car for over 12 months. with the stage 2 tune and 42's.

its says 70 mm puley and that is equal to a 2.79 pulley!!! and r33 you should check your duty cycle cause ur gonna kill your motor...i was at 110% with 42's on a 2.9 so your prolly like 150%!!! not good

That is correct. The stage 3 pulley is a 76 mm pulley. Which equates to about a 2.98 pulley. I have been running it now for 3 months and have had zero issues.

Read a little closer, it is a 76 mm pulley. I have it on my car.

 

u can run 42's, but if u go WOT a lot, with a 2.7 your duty cycle is way high(over 100%, as stated before), and u will have problems. Get some 60's and u will be safe to run WOT.

For now, dont run WOT costantly, or for long periods of time.

ever since ive gotten the stage 3 set up ive been driving easy i still have my little fun but havent red lined it yet or really even close

 

i dont understand why if you nought the CA stage 3 they would not give you 60's???? my friend that bought that kit got 60's with his?? you should send them an email or pm donna or something cause that is wierd dude?? it should come with 60's!!!

 

i have a 2.8 with 42's and before i got my tune i was only running a 92% duty cycle on them at WOT...

How do I do that?

I have put about 12000 miles on the car with the 2.7 I got 2-3 knock between gears until I changed to the Zex plugs. Now I see 0 anytime.
