Stage 3 supercharger

I was at my local auto parts store and some guy came up there in a rust bucket and he says he has a cobalt ss/sc with a stage 3 supercharger and he said his gm stage 2 is on the way. I was wondering what is the stage 3 supercharger and what it consist of (if there such a thing) thank you.

I believe hybrid refers to the cooling system used for the supercharger.

By hybrid Supercharger they mean that the interior helix gears that drive the supercharger are different, (almost like having a smaller pulley). Its an almost one off blower from Eaton that noone can buy.

I think i remember seeing a few places that do blower porting referring to different port jobs/styles as "Stage ___" SO perhaps he got his blower ported from one of those places and had their "Stage 3" port job performed, whatever that involves. If thats not what he meant, than yeah, he's most likely full of crap.
