Stage II kit question...

Someone I know is selling a full Stage II kit which includes a flashed ECU and everything... Obviously this would be the cheaper way for me to go since I wouldn't have to pay the dealer to install or flash the ecu.

My question is, will it work? It is apparently an "Intense" ecu, can you guys tell me of any downfalls over just getting the full GM kit/flash/install? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I would stay away from the intense tunes. Their products are just fine but the tunes are prone to popping motors

I think I've actually found a GM dealership that will tune my car with aftermarket parts. I'm pretty psyched about it. I'm basically building the stage 2 kit much cheaper than GM would sell it to me. 42s and a 3.065" MPS from Smoothflow. I can get the belt anywhere. Its gonna be about $500 cheaper.

hmm... I have a GM kit coming my way already, but I was thinking this intense one was gonna be cheaper because I wouldn't have to pay for the flash of the ecu or installation.

that OTT kit is pretty much the same as the one I have on the way it looks like.

off topic a bit...., SCcobaltSS, how much for the 2.8" pulley?

gm stage 2 and ottp stage 1 are not even close to the same. ottp's pully is smaller, bigger injectors, more power....

i have everything you need for a stage 2 kit except for a hub.
i have:
-3" pulley
-42# injectors with harness
-shortened belt

all you would need to do is buy a 4 bolt hub and get it tuned and your set.
interested?

I already got the GM kit, I was just gonna resell it if the Intense kit was the same/better

Unless you have the already flashed ECU to sell separately with the trade of my stock one.. if that can even be done..

it can be done but you'd have to take it to the dealership to get a ecu re-learn or something like that. you cant just slap that thing on and go, unfortunately

Do you know of ANY way to get that thing flashed and just put it on and go? I just called my local GM dealer and they said they have NEVER put a stage 2 on an SS before... that makes me feel quite uneasy about having them do anything to my car.

The relearn is only $35 and any gm delaer can do it. And you can easily put the stage 2 in yourself, its pretty simple

If you put the ecu that already has the tune on it then yes it should he around $35. Thats what it was for me. If you bring them the stock ecu they can't flash it though, unless the stage kit has never been on someone else's car.

Wow, I am not sure what my options here are then... where can I get the tune? I really just wanted the GM tune, that's not possible?
