This sucks

Today when I got off work and got home.
My car seemed to make a noticeable hissing noise. I never really noticed it
before. After looking and listening arround in the engine, I found that the
hissing noise is air going into this little hole.

Engine was at idle.
How normal/much air should be going in this hole? Am I just worrying bout nothing because its 4am and I worked over time and im tired? Or is there a problem?

I thought it was some kind of referance vent, but there is defenatly suction occuring on that lil hole. The other hoses are not leaking, I checked.

That's your boost control solenoid.
Connects the lower feed of the bypass valve to ambient (the open part) or to the manifold pressure. Sure the hoses are routed correctly?

YES I am,
When I installed my steel braiding kit, I did it ONE hose at a time so that I would not get them mixed up. The little filter foam fell off a while ago.

Can some one idle their car and check to see if theirs is sucking air in please? If its normal, cool if not... then I would guess that the Boost Control Solenoid has devoloped some kind of internal leak.
Thanks,

I haven't heard a noticeable hissing, but I can check tomorrow for you and let you know.

Its some kind of vent so ya its suposed to be open,
There is suposed to be a little filter over it, but mine kinda
fell off.

I just don't know if its suposed to be constantly sucking air in or not.

The braided line in ur pic has been disconnected in my car for over 2 years with no negative effects. That line goes to the boost bypass solenoid. I just left the line tucked by the fuel rail and put another 2" piece of hose with a screw in it back on. I am also missing the foam air filter.

I just checked mine and I dont have any hissing or noticeable vacuum from the filter area.
