Supercharger bov's
Supercharger bov's
im very new to superchargers and have been wondering this for a long time and everyone i asked seemed to be more confused then i was.....can you upgrade your bov on a supercharged motor to get a louder "sneeze" like you can turboed motors? thanks for the input!
It seems to be like the supercharger works pretty well the way it is. As far as I know the M62 doesn't even have a blow off valve. It has something similar, just not a bov.
I just wish it was easier to do maintenance on the damn thing myself. I'll be buying the service manual for my car when spring rolls around, dealerships will never see me again.

I can do rather basic work on my car. Oil changes, all the filters, bulbs, gas and brake lines, brakes, etc. I'm just not familiar with taking engines apart. I'd like to change the oil in the supercharger every so often, repack the rotor, etc. I know its not really necessary, but I like to know that everything is clean. I've just never been taught all this crap, and I'm new to superchargers as well.

+1 same here!
The supercharger is a self contained unit, though, and the oil doesn't really need to be changed often, but I'd like to be able to take it apart and clean everything.
Its possible. You need to twin charge your balt. Turbo boost into an sc.
The eaton M90, which was the stock s/c on my grand prix, had a boost bypass valve. It would only give you boost if you throttle position was greater than 50% (stock setting). You guys don't have those????

Stop trying to force it to work.
D4u2s0t said it perfect in his first post. He didn't even flame in his post, I don't know how he did it, it was flawless. Take his advice and stop reading these other posts until you read up on it.
what you'll find:
>you don't need one
>if you want one, just go turbo and stop forcing it on a supercharger
>you'll hurt your performance more than it would be worth to 'sound cool'

whine > bov. I like hearing the sweet sound of the supercharger throughout the entire power band, not just when I let off the gas and shift and it goes pshh. But do what you will...

Its great I tell ya. Down under the sc.
