Question Supercharger grind.....

Alright so I was just drivin down the road... probably 45 or 50mph... came up to a stop sign.. went to pull out.. and it's like my car was running no boost whatsoever... well i come straight back home since I was only like a mile away, and w/ the car running I popped the hood. I could hear what sounded like a grinding noise pretty loud.. I stuck my ear down next to the supercharger and the grinding is clearly coming from inside the supercharger. I can only assume that this is a pretty serious issue? I know it's nothing i've done because I never run my car hard... not saying that I dont go fast from time to time, because I do... I think everyone does. But, I never run my car up into crazy RPM's, never shift hard, or bounce it off the rev. limiter like the little import kids around here seem to think is cool. I just dont understand why this would all of the sudden be happening. Any ideas?

The S/C are kinda noisy, do you have a smaller pulley? It usually makes it louder.

Correct the bearings need to be regreased, but first you need to make sure there not actually bad.

no the only mods i've done are AEM CAI, and Borla Catback exhaust... no pulley mods... I know this isn't normal because it hasn't done it before now. And how do I check to see if they are bad.. and if they are how will I be able to tell? I dont like this at all.. lol.. I've only had the car a little over a month... but I bought it used.. stupid move huh?

I took mine in to my dealer because I felt it was a little noisy (Blower). They over nighted a new unit Fed Ex and replaced it the next day. The car had 2100 miles on it.

I'm not a 100% sure but I believe the powertrain warranty is in effect regardless if you bought it used or not.

Sounds like it might be the coupler. Does the noise sound like marbles rolling around?

If your warranty is still in effect and you dont have a aftermarket pulley(not gm) then take it in they will take care of it, i had to fix mine myself since they voided my warranty.

alright... well looks like my car is goin all to hell... i'm now having a problem w/ the brakes.. seems like when it gets hot out side, they want to stick so when I let off the gas I dont actually really have to use the brakes... my neighbor said could be crappy fluid.. said maybe the heat it causing the fluid to get hot and produce air pockets which would compress the calipers.. sound legit? When it's cool outside they dont stick at all
