Supercharger issue.

Just wondering.... Has anyone ever experienced their supercharger turning a goldish color? Any reason on what it could be?

mine did it was just grime, pretty much cooked on, I cleaned it with some diluted purple power. Maybe this helps.

yea i think its from the dirt that gets built up on it combined with the heat an tarnished oxidation. you can remove it with some mothers polish and some long long amounts of elbow grease, i took mine off sanded it and painted it so it looks better and i don't have to worry about it, plus the added benefit of porting it and filling the silencer holes when it was off was a definite bonus

Ahh, thank you guys very much! I'm gonna try this!!!! I thought it could've been my heat exchanger pump causing it to overheat or run hot, but I checked it out & everything looks fine. No leaks or anything.

That is why I powdercoated mine before I installed the SC kit. Keeps it looking new.

just a tip, i used a textured spray paint, but they arent heat rated....so what i did was i sprayed the supercharger with black engine paint first then with the textured paint, then i sprayed engine clear coat over top of that, i was worried at first but its holding up great, plus i ported it so it barely ever gets hot, and don't forget to seal your silencer holes with some quicksteel while your down there

Engine detail dressings, given enough time and heat, will turn to a nasty yellow. No idea how to get it off short of sanding though.

Gene, that's really nice

HIV, your blower has aids, it's normal for it to change colors, T-cell count issues usually.

Na, it's just oil residue. Not sure how it gets there, but i've seen it on some cars.

Nice that is hot! Yellow is my favorite.

Since you have a real SC car... and not a hybrid, lol, like mine... where is your level at, hot and cold in the stock filler neck?

I just want to make sure my level is ok, etc. Been checking it out every night since I've installed my setup to make sure.
