well since you have your buddy that works there i would take it in and have him take the supercharger off it happened to mine and it serious a chunk off one of the fins rotor came off and destroyed the rear bearing so just make sure it was warrantied i have only seen or heard of maybe 4-6 go that way

What I have seen on so many SS's, mine included, when you start running smaller pulleys is the rotors start to scrape the housing. I think what happens is the the heat created by the smaller pulleys causes the rotors to expand a little.

Simple test: Take off the belt, grab the supercharger pulley with your hand. Rotate it quickly back and forth. If there is any play before it catches chances are it's your coupler. They get loose very often on eaton blowers. It's a pretty simple fix too.

i got the same exact noise. been trying to figure it out for ages. its real intermittent. the one time i got a second to check it out it seemed like the s/c was doing it. maybe we can get together sometime to compare. if we both have it its probably normal.

take it in for warranty but don't tell them about the smaller pulleyt in fact take it off and put on the stock one if possible.

thats the main reason why i havent just warrantied mine at work. i really dont feel like getting my ass kicked by that pulley hub if its a normal noise thats just going to happen again. that and im hoping to go with one of these new turbo kits soon so im gonna see what happens with my current s/c.

there is no reson to put on a smaller pulley on a stg2 tune b/c i've lost 2 s/c's in 2 months and it aonly blows stge 2 boost, no higher until u rech redline and it might jump to 15 1/2 lbs, but u just shouldn't do it, tyrust me it sucks to not be able to go fast b/c u smell ur bearings in the whipples burning out.

My 2.8 on a stage 2 tune gives 17-18 psi at redline. Its an Eaton, not a Whipple.

Same thing. After the stage 2 install, I noticed a more "pronounced thrashing/carving sound"........especially at idle. More revolutions, more noise I guess. It's run just fine though.
