Supercharger Pressure/Replacing
I was wondering what psi the supercharger should be putting out through the gears and what is normal idle boost at? Mine is just barely above -20 is that bad? (sorry new 06 Cobalt and not used to everything. Also I was told when I bought it that the bearing is out in my supercharger which is hard to believe I bought it with 46,000 miles is this a pretty serious problem.
Thankyou

awesome thanks for the help I was just having issues because the max it reaches is 7 and it doesn't really go higher than 0 in first even while punching it and in second it will shoot up to 7 and then slowly lose pressure

thats way to low something is wrong...check ur bypass valve placement, when closed the tab on it should be touching the little screw stud...u'll know what i mean when u look at it, could be its staying a tad bit open, or you can try the bypass mod, either way 7psi is way to low even on a 100*f day

Ok will do it might have something to do with the bearing too I figured is ebay really the best place to find refurbished superchargers at the best price or do you know of another place I hear it is really easy to do
And I was wondering where the bypass valve is located on the supercharger

It is inbetween the TB and the Intercooler on the underside of the blower
you can see the actuator for it and the boost ref hoses in between your blower and the engine block

check to make sure there are no kinks anywhere in the line, i had a few kinks for the first few days as i worked them out, after that, if still not getting the boost, remove the blower, and look at the bypass butterfly and make sure its fully closed, if not lossen the 2 bolts to the bypass and thighten it back down where its touching the stud, than look at the butterfly again, it should be fully shut, if still not getting full boost try the bypass mod
