supercharger question

I currently am installing the stage 3 pulley with the option b kit on my car. while apart, i decided to go ahead and polish the intake of the supercharger and open up the triangle hole on the intake manifold side. when the machinist was opening up the triangle hole, he clamped down on the mating surface and has left some indents. the rubber seal part of hte gasket seems to be inside of these dents, but i am still concerned about leakage from these.

does anyone have any experience with this or has anyone machined the surface to get a closer fit? i am trying to figure out the best way to get this back together and not have any problems or have to take it apart again or blow something up. if someone has some insight i would greatly appreciate your input. thanks

also, i read something about having to change the laminova cores or the position of them when installing the dual pass end plate, what does this mean?

As long as the machined surface that touches the rubber seal of the gasket is unharmed, you shouldn't have any problems. the material outside of that is just along for the ride, but I'd give the machinist a good tongue lashing for marring up a machined surface... That's a Machining 101 to never place any tool of any sort against a machined surface.

so on the cores, i just have to move around the ones that are in it already? or do i have to get news ones to replace them?

thanks for the help so far...the rubber goes right to the edge of the gouges on the surface, so i am concerned that it may blow it out to that gouge.

you can use soem GM assembley adhesive on that gasket if your worried about it. as for the dual pass. make sure you get a new endplate seal before you put it back together

be careful when taking them cores out. they are a pain in the ass. you gotta make sure you dont crush the ends or the o rings on the ends wont make a good seal. pull them out straight and slow aswell cuz you dont wanna mess up the fins.

nevermind on the second laminova question, great write up, the information was exactly what i was looking for thank you blackbolt89.

so i laid the supercharger gasket back over the machined surface, and on hte wide side the rubber touches the edge of the gouge. i am thinking due to the thickness of the material it may be ok, but i just want to be sure. i thought about machining it if absolutely needed, but i dont know what that will do to the air space or if it matters or what. thanks in advance.
