Tc Vs. Sc

Ok heres my thoughts and maybe will help with some other people questions.

I have the 2.0 Lsj and I want to have about 475 Fwhp w/o spray.

I was think about doing the twin charger setup but seems to have troubles so far. So then I was think about the tvs but I havent seen over 350ish. On the other hand you have guys with turbo kits running 420ish.

What has the best potential?

Ya that would be must thought! why have all that power when you can't keep the tires on the ground? But it would be cool though saying that you have a car that is supercharged and turbo.

Go full turbo don't waste your money on the twincharge kit.

I am thinking I will end up turbo but if we figure something out about the twincharge I think I might just do that. I want the sound of the SC but the TC has the potentail

hope you have deep pockets, plus you will need a DD since you will greatly sacrifice reliability when pushing that much power.

Turbos make more HP due to the parisitic power loss you get with a supercharger. (they have to take HP to make it) Where a turbo is free HP, for the most part. Twin charging might neet but I don't think it'd be worth it.

MY PERSONAL OPINION.....

Twincharge has the most potential as you can put a gigantic turbo on there and use the supercharger to spool it so that it is actual usuable power. But the downside right now is tuning and such. If you get it to work though, it will be phenominal.

Turbo will be the easiest way to make 400+whp.

Supercharging will net you 0 lag and probably make for the "funnest" street DD car. But that's also opinionated. Plus it will take quite a bit to get 400+whp out of supercharging.

Im just curious why nobody has tried pro charging. They make alot of power it would just require some bracket fabricating..

And a place to put it! I'm not sure one could fit in the engine bay.

someone already tried it and it was pretty much a massive failure. It was real laggy when making power and it didn't really make a lot of peak power. It was like having a giant laggy supercharger. All the pitfalls of both turbos and supercharging. I'm sure if someone put a properly sized procharger on though, they could probably make it a success. But no one wants to put the money into it since it costs so much and you can go TVS or turbo for much cheaper.

475 fwhp. You should look into buying a prepped race motor. 1,200hp and low reliability.

if you build the bottom end right I think you can get the numbers that you want with the supercharger. It is all in making a free flowing system with the supercharger.

you mean the top end. The block has nothing to do with flow. A built head will help him get a free flowing system and help make better peak numbers with the supercharger.

good try though.

I agree with ralli. Turbo is the way for ultimate power. But I'd rather have a really fun street car.

I am going to school for High Performance. Machincing motors etc. And this will not be my DD just a fast toy.

With the TVS and enough engine and head work. Maybe?

That looks ugly and not worth it.

Your best bet is building the motor and throwing a turbo on it to reach around 475whp. Turbo is your only opition if you want to reach that high

The TVS will NOT make 475hp... too much heat...
