Is there a quick fix for the "cruise control issue"??

I just bought my car about a month ago, and when I got it, the cruise control didn't work. it does the whole deal where it flashes " cruise engaged" for a split second, and then goes off. I'm in college, and really don't have time to take my car to the dealer for a day, so, any quick fixes, guys?

I had this when the ar was new. As soon as I hit 10000km, everything worked and I have not had a problem since.

if that doesn't fix it then it could be a broken clutch engagement button bracket, happened to me

i'd leave your battery disconected for lik 30 minutes. or what you could do is just clear the trouble code with your interceptor if you have one... thats what I did.

The bracket will still be connected, but one of the tabs might be broken off of the back so that it won't fully engage, and when the clutch pushes against it, it pushes the whole assembly slightly rather than fully pressing the button.

Kinda sucks cause only way i truly found out it was broken was by removing the whole clutch pedal and assembly and then i saw how the bracket was slightly loose (because of the broken tab), its really a pain in the ass. If you have a warranty then i suggest taking it in, like its been said it may be too much of a pain for the problem.

Its a 90 cent piece, but about 3 hours of labor if you haven't done it before and 1 hour if you have. (have to take out the steering column to get to it, its really retarded).

sometimes you can also just pull up on the pedal with your foot, thats what i do anyways.

sometimes if youre so much as at a red light in first with clutch depressed, it could disable the cc. In some cases its the clutch switch popping out of place from letting the clutch pop up from under your foot too fast.
