For those running 20+lbs. of Boost

Which boost gauge did you buy? Where'd you get it from? Suggestions and pictures would be great. I will shortly be running around 20-21 lbs. of boost and need to swap out my stock boost gauge with an aftermarket one. Just seeing what everyone else has. Thanks.

Gotta agree with that. Any time you actually push a gauge alittle past its limit looks wicked.

what pulley are you running to be over 20psi? last time I checked the 2.5" was the safest and that was only good for 19psi

You guys really need to get some porting done on those heads. Above 20 psi you're just creating more heat.

Actually you don't need that small a pulley, if the weather is cool and you have the S/C ported and polished.

I'm going to be running a 2.6" pulley. I see 18psi now and the rule of pulley size dropping is for every .1 dropped you add 1psi of boost, so I'd be at or about 20psi.

I just drove my car for the first time since I got the... *takes deep breath* ZZP 2.6" pulley, ZZP adjustable tensioner, GM stage 2 belt, Pacesetter header, and full 3" catless magnaflow exhaust. ITS INSANE!!!! Too scared to try out the new power, but it does make about 16 psi at like 4000 rpm! It looks weird seeing the stock boost gauge go that high!

Sounds great, 16psi at 4K is insane. I can't wait to get everything else done with mine. How was the install of the pulley system? Easy/Hard? How long it take?

Imagine the 7 circles of hell... now imagine the 8th.
This was of course due to lack of proper equipment on my part. Had I gotten a pulley puller that was made for the car, I might have had an easier time installing it. Header was pretty easy exept for the exhaust bolt on the stock manifold flange that was a bitch, but other than that it was pretty uneventful. Oh and the belt was next to impossible to get on, but I have absolutly ZERO belt slip.

LMAO Did you have to take out the blower for installing the pulley and injectors? And I woulda thought that the belt would have been fairly easy to get on since your using the adjustable tensioner from ZZP...guess not tho. How long did it take for the pulley, injectors, and belt? If you remember. Thanks.

If I remeber! Oh I remeber, and I will for the rest of my life...
It was almost right at 3 weeks for all the stuff, from header to pulley to exhaust. Yes you have to remove the blower to install a pulley, and if its smaller than 2.8 I'd suggest taking a file to the snout, just to be safe. The belt was such a bitch BECAUSE of the tensioner! Yes it works great in taking up the slack and all, BUT there is no place to push on it to release some of the tension! I ended up doing a tag team thing with my next door neighbor where he used a small pry bar on the back to get it down a little, then I got the big pry bar in there, then he pryed on the big bar and I reefed on the belt to get it on. Kinda unorthodox but it worked. The pulley not only adds boost and power and stuff, but it also adds a nice beautiful mini blower whine at idle, I love it! It presents its self, but doesn't over power.

Yea....um, my boost gauge reads 20+ lbs of boost at like 6000rpm. Too bad its because of a bad gauge.....

But imagine the look on unsuspecting friends when they see that needle going off the charts before redline >=)

And i have been waiting for like two friggan weeks for the dealership to receive a replacement. My Stage 2 kit took less time to arrive than this crap.

Oh, I know how you feel! EVERY SINGLE PART required for the 2.6" pulley arrived on time... EXCEPT THE PULLEY ITS SELF!!! Which took an agonizing 3 weeks to arrive. Those 3 weeks seemed like 3 years!

Further testing of my car reveals that at 5500 rpm I hit 17 psi. So I'm guessing I'll prolly max out at around 18. I'm satisfied with 18 psi, its not quite maxing out the stock boost gauge, but hey its close enough

I have the Autometer Carbon Fiber series mechanical boost gauge product number 4703. Requires some light moding to the a-pillar, but it fits nicely. I'm still running stock boost, but one of these days that will change.
