Those of you with a 3" or 2.9", some ques.
I tried to PM some of the guys who ran a 3" or 2.9" at one time, but haven't gotten a reply as of yet....
READ MY SECOND POST BELOW FOR BETTER INFORMATION/CLARIFICATION
Anyway, Im heading out to INTENSE on friday for the following. I just want to get some opinons on if this is a good setup for now, or just general input...
MY CAR IS STOCK NOW, 5200 miles, live in NE OH:
FRIDAY: Im having Intense install their modular pulley system with a 2.9" pulley. Im also having them install their tensioner pulley. (I plan on going smaller in the future). Lastly, I'm thinking of swapping down to 1 step colder plugs, gapped to .35 or .37, (somewhere in there).
Thanks,
Chris~

Just go to there site and pick out the stage you want, then have them install it.
why get the modular system with the same pulley the stage 2 gm kit comes with.
and if your going there have them tune it either way.

MODS
INTENSE modular pulley system w/2.9" pulley
1 step colder plugs set at .35
INTENSE tensioner pulley
FUTURE PLANS
GM Stage 1
INTENSE 2.7" pulley
If your going to get stage 1 from GM. why get intense anything now. dude. you confuse me.

I DO NOT have any modifications right now, the car is STOCK.
I wanted to go with just a 3" or 2.9" pulley, simmilar to what Denny did before he swapped to the 2.6"....
I'm NOT getting any of Intense's Stage kits. I don't want their tune. Im going to go with GM Stage 1 (which I can get for Diddly, and install myself).
My real concern is, with a STOCK car, would it be better to run a 3" pulley, or 2.9" pulley, and why? ALSO, with a 3" or 2.9" pulley on a STOCK car, should I go with a tensioner pulley, and should I go with 1 step colder plugs?
I think that makes what Im asking somewhat more clear......

I was runnin a 3" pulley with stock injectors and an airbox mod.... had it for about a month and arf'd it around 12.6 ... also I was using the 7eix ngk plugs... never through a CEl or anything///but get it tuned you're gonna love the higher redline
you can get a stage 2 belt for cheap and you wouldnt need a tensioner pulley, and if you wanted to go to a smaller pulley in the future you could go down with out slip with a 2.7 with the stage 2 belt, plugs wound not hurt also, but id get stage1 before you do anything...
yeah. if thats what you want to do. I would get your didly stage 1 first. then since you have the larger injectors.. go with STAGE 2 Belt, a 2.9 billetflow, wich you can go 2.7 later without mchining the SC snout and ZEX 82003 plugs. they are one step colder, and this setup is what i am currently running. I had a little knock with the stock plugs and once i put these in I am seeing just over 16 lbs of boost and 0 knock annywhere.

All the input you guys have provided me with is appreciated. Thanks again.
I guess what I'm technically doing, is a HALF-ASS GM stage 2, or Intense Stage 3 kit. Just not all at once....
Thanks,
Chris~
Why not hust go with intense stage 3, its about the same price and less trouble than getting everything at different place. and its only 550 i believe with everything you want. (pulley, injectors, Tune, plugs, idler pulley)

At this point, Im only going with the 2.9" (or 3"), colder plugs, and tensioner basically because thats what I can afford at this point, and know that I can do it safely since there are a few others that have done this on a stock tuned, stock injector car.
Main concern now: is a 2.9" pulley with BK7RE plugs too much/unsafe for a stock tune, stock injector car? Which pulley would be a better choice? 3" or 2.9". I plan on going GM Stage 1 in about a month or so...
Im really hoping Denny or Waylin22 gets back to me since they have ran both setups at one point in time...

I'm leaning towards the 3", but would like to hear from those who have done the 2.9"
i got a 2.9 and injen intake been running fine for almost a year now
diddnt do any tune, plugs, or tensioner, although i did buy C.A. tensioner just never installed it. alot of peoples cars did slip on the belt and so did mine, but if you use belt dressing (the stuff in the can) and run it for a bit it will seat properly and wont slip. well it will only seat properly if you have a quality pulley. like intense they have an extra rip and it grips like hell. doesnt squeek at all . higly recommend intenses modular pulley system , **** 100 cant beat that

but i forgot to mension that intense uses a differnt hub then the gm one so youd have to take it off and i wouldnt want to do that. stick with one brand with the same kind of hub. intense if you buy the pulley system you can just upgrade the individual pulley later on, say if you did get injectors and tune and plugs

1.) Thanks for all the input guys. Im going with the 2.9". Im also sticking with Intense's brand, just becasue they are local to me. I can deal with the machining of the snout when I step down to a 2.7", etc.
2.) Im going to get the tnesioner pulley, simply for the fact that I will be going smaller S/C pulley at some point in the future. I will however, also use some of the belt dressing as mentioned. (I have some in the garage).
3.) I got the BK7RE's, and gapped them at .35, and will install them if necessary. I will run stock plugs for the time being. Any other reccomended gap though? I know someone said .37 might be a better selection.... Guess I can just experiment with it...
Thanks again,
Chris~
