Tire Pressure?

Okay got my car about one month ago with 700 miles on it. It has 1,000 more now. I was walking out of quiznos today (with smoked turkey in hand ) and noticed my tires seemed a little low. I took them to a gas station later and read on the side of the tire 50 PSI max Press. I figured I would top them off about about 45. I got out my gauge and they were all at 26! The dealer told me this car had sat on the lot for about 10 months before i bought it, but dont you think tire pressure would be the first thing they would check before i got it?

First, could that be from my driving?
Second, what is the correct PSI I should put in my tires?
I have the stock SS/SC tires the Perelli P-zeros on 18's. thanks

I'm running about 35-37 psi, and all tires go down a little. Air bleeds through the rubber and also around the rim. So you should check your tires every month or so. More often if you wish. Also be careful what guage you are using, don't use the one you find all ready attached to the hose you find at the gas stations. Use something reliable, invest a few dollars if need be.
my 2 cents

I do about 40 since theyre lower profile. Normal economy tires use 32, such as the one on my dad's van.

you guys may want to have a look at the chart on the inside of your drivers door
next time you get in the car.
32PSI is what they are meant to be at.
which is also what the dealer will check and set them at when you do an oil change.

40? 45? 50? ouch.
