too much power in first gear

alright heres the deal i raced a srt-4 last night from a rolling start going about 20 in first gear

i mashed the gear and even going 20 my tires spun out a second or 2 before they caught

by then the srt pulled away but i stayed with him the rest of the race

what will help give me the traction i need so this doesnt happen again

i mean its cool to have that much power in first gear but not when its going to lose u a race

use hp tuners to pull boost in first gear until higher rpms... helps a lot.

y do u shift at 15 mph that just makes you not use the full first gear which then in turn makes u start at a lower rpm in second which also means a lower psi

even though u slip it still is alot faster than shifting at 15

I also have all the traction mods minus new tires and CAB's and I still had problems.. you can control the boost bypass with hptuners (I.E. I run 50 % boost in 1st then incremently increase to full on by 6000 rpm) I hit just under 40 in 1st gear (7400 redline but shift at 7200), but new tires will def help since the pirellis < traction.

HP tune your car, and pull poost in 1st gear, and have it gain as RPM rise. I can easily spin in 1st, but it is also VERY easy to control it and keep them from spinning.

Called 'launch control' to the people 'in the know'

go search the forums for your info. click on "search" and type in HP Tuners
that will answer 100% of your questions about limiting boost. hp tuners is not a "boost limiter" (u mean boost controller anyways), it is software that allows u to tune different perameters of your car.
basically you can limit the amount of boost in different gears so it bleeds off. i kno a lot of ppl run 50% boost in 1st for launching purposes

search for tires aswell.

Limiting boost in first is cool, and a good idea but, I like my way better. Don't use all the power in first (aka: don't floor it) until it hooks, then you have the advantage of having the power incase you "need" it.
