I am sorry to say but you will have to fabricate the brackets that came with your torque braces. No big deal but make sure you oval out the holes some so you can move that top bracket as close towards the engine as possible. Also where the top of the eyelit of the damper meets that top brace oval out that hole also and tighten as far from the mount as possible. You will find that if you install it as is in about a week or so you will start to get a noise that sounds like a broken cat. What it really is is your brace hitting the mount a 1000 times a minute and the top brace doing the same. BTW go to your local Home depot and get some rubber and cut it the size of your top brace for you damper then put that between the brace and the engine mount on install. This will save vibration.

Just thought I should share my expreience with you and make it a flawless intall on the first try.

Yea everything that 1stblu said
a few of us are getting some measurments for cynic so that he can fix the problem some people are having with the 06 cobalt being that the motor mount is ridged unlike the 05. See his threads under the .com site if you need more info

I really don't think you are going to need the torque brace if you have poly motor and trans mount and the control arm bushing. Those three things should stop all the wheel hop.

1stbluSS, that seems like a bunch of work to get something to work that should have worked in the first place.

better to be safe than sorry, i didnt really feel much of a difference with the engine mount. besides, i ordered the torque braces before i got any of those things. its just that i just now got the torque braces all the way back in August.
