Torque Pattern for LSJ Valve Cover

Ok, I have the torque specs for the valve cover:

Cam Cover to Cylinder Head Bolt
8 N·m
71 lb in

but what is the actual torque pattern for the valve cover?

no pattern specified, but if you start at the middle and work radially all the way out you wont be far wrong. 89 inch lbs is what my manual says, not 71...

its easy when you put the cover on, to have the seals drop. they do if properly cleaned, stick well. there is only one correct way to put them on, look at the seals.

if you have trouble like that use a little dab of blue hi temp silicone in the cover grooves to keep the gasket in place. take care that the little spark plug ones dont drop out. good luck

I'm fairly positive that they didn't drop, I double checked with a flashlight to see. I think its the torque that is the problem, I'm leaking from the driver side where there are fewer bolts to hold everything down.

well pulled the cover off and found that the rubber gasket had turned under next to the cam position sensor and was allowing oil by there. Added some blue silicone to get everything to stick back the right way and torgued it all done radially. No leaks from that part now. Just gotta get my rear main seal fixed and oil leaks will be done lol
