Ya I hate that when you in first gear. You give it a little to much gas and try to let off, it starts jerkin like crazy. People gotta think its my first time driving a stick or something lol

Cleaning the TB might help a little.

disengage the clutch when not under power. When you let off the gas push the clutch in 1st. Practice rpm matching when re-engaging the clutch as well. Learn how to drive it

Ya I cleaned my thorottle body when I had the bouncy idle problems and it stopped that, but Ive checked it again since then and its clean. It dosnt happen all the time just if im going down a hill or something in first and I give it to much gas and try to let off. No biggy just saying I know what hes talking about

Ya I just push in the clutch till it stops and slap it in second and give it alot of gas till I get moving. Ya 1st gear sucks even when trying to roll around a parking lot it can go crazy if you dont know what your doing. It can be fun showing off a quick pull in first gear if you can get some traction to your friends "holy **** this thing gets up" lol as long you dont get insane wheel hop

ya u really gotta learn how to drive. not saying u dont know how to drive or u suck or anything its just u need to get used to that, thats how the car is. i usually try to stay outta first gear. but ull find if u ease off the gas and ease it on u wont jerk that much

Like others have said, gotta learn the car. I usually clutch it over bumps, and if it starts to get jerky clutch it.

Try rolling in second gear if you can, or be very steady on the throttle. This is the only car that's done it to me.

sometimes ill shift from first to second and get on the gas and it kinda bogs it seems like does anyones elses do that? ive changed the plugs and cleaned the MAF and also the TB...i do need a new air filter though but i dont think it would cause that because even with a new air filter on it, it did it

I like the touchy gas...

I set the TB scaler way higher last year to see how it changed things and quickly set it back because I didnt like how it was less responsive and how fast the revs dropped in between gears. I guess im just used to it

ya were kinda stuck with this 1st gear thing. you cant avoid it by shifting into second. so stupid. if u shift into second while at 2000rpm or something the car is going to drop to like.. close to 1000rpm and obviously the car is going to bog. as would any car that was trying to move at 1000rpm. just learn to get used to the car man. once youve driven the car for a season or 2 you'll learn to like the touchy pedal. i drove my brothers 06 sti the other day and it took me awhile to get used to the gas in that car. it was soo unresponsive. i felt like i was hitting the pedal so much just to get it to rev. idk. might just be me

Ahhh the good ol first gear "chug a lug". My 06 had this. Clean your MAF, re gap your plugs (I did .042), if you have an intake clean the filter, clean the injectors, get a tune. it will be like buddah, almost.
