Question Traction Control is m.i.a ???

I test drove an 07 SS/sc and the emergency brake is functioning. It has no tension to it all, so I figured either it had to be tightened or the cable had to be replaced, no biggy. But when I launched the car, the traction control never kicked in, and there was no "low traction" signal. The "T/C" symbol that pops up when traction control is disabled isn't on the dash either. I could be retarded but i thought all SS's have traction control. Any ideas on the problems with it?

So you launched it? Was the front end playing jump rope? If not it probably has aftermarket mounts

torque management and traction control are 2 different things. torque managment basicly is there to smooth the power out to minimize shock loads (such as quick gear changes, rapid throttle movements, etc) to protect the drivetrain. traction control is active programming, monitoring wheel speed sensors and using the abs and pcm to correct problems. when it detects wheelspin it will close the throttle, retard timing, and in some cases even apply the brakes to the spinning wheel.

I tried bumping an old thread with this question but idk if that'll work and I need the answer ASAP. The dealer said the power locks don't work and that air isn't being blown (hot or cold) bc the car needs a new bcm, he took 100$ off the price for this, so will I be able to order a bcm nd put it in and go? I've read the dealer needs to install this due to programming. But I also read there's a method of turning it over on and off 3 times so that the car learns the passlock. It's an 07 with 100k if that helps any.

AFAIK the dealer will have to program it. tell him you wont buy it till its fixed, unless your getting he car for like $5500.

If you call the dealer thay should be able to give you a quote and when you test drove it did you run the rpms all the way up in a couple gears and made sure its making 12.5 psi of boost

They said it'd be 82$. We ran it pretty hard and I know it went above 10 but I can't say what number exactly. It was a busy jersey area lol.

Well apparently the owner of the dealer is selling the car for his friend, so hes taking the cost of the parts off the price. It has a month warranty (not much). I spoke to James Rakes and he says before I order the bcm I should check the fuses myself cuz he doesnt believe its the bcm based on the symptoms (no power locks, no heat/ac, and vents dont move or anything when i cycle through th adjustments)
