tvs blower help plz.
tvs blower help plz.
Ok so i was doing some research on eatons new tvs blower. i watched a few redlines do some pulls and it seems to be a good investment...but what kinda of tune would i need. would it be possible to bolt on the tvs and use the gm stage 2 tune with 60s or would i need a hptuner or whatever. im very new to tuning and dont understand how to tune at all.
Search.
There was just a writeup on this.
IF you think there is an easy way to do this, or hope there is, don't even do it.
60s, a tune, and an aftermarket/cobra heat exchanger at a BARE minimum

no. If you need to make this thread on whether or not you should get a tvs then you are not ready. Read up before you make a thread.
There's plenty of info on this posted on this site for this. Get aquainted with the search function and it'll do you a lot of good with this subject. Find threads written by Wicked2005SS (I believe that's his name on here), he did a whole writeup on the Harrop TVS system, and I got a lot of good info out of it. But to directly answer your question, the Stage 2 tune will not work the the Harrop TVS and niether will the 42lb/hr injectors that come with it. As stated before me, you need to do some serious research before looking into the TVS. It's not something to jump into with no previous knowledge because your dealer isn't going to necessarily going to be able to help with it, only a tuner who has experience with it will if something isn't going right. You'll need 60lb injectors, intake, header/dp/exaust, and a H/E for starters, and a tuner who knows how to work with it. Not to mention save up in case the clutch does go, it might, it might not. I'm not an expert on this at all, but I've done my own research. The TVS can be a beast if you know what you're doing with it.

Now, for your question, what many have said is right, the 42's with the stage 2 tune won't work. Your going to need a set of 60's and a good tune to get it to work. If you get a custom tune with the 60's before you install the tvs then it won't be that hard to get a base tune down. I had a 2.85 pulley and 60's on mine with a modified stage 2 tune and the changes needed were very minor. My car started right up and ran with any big issues from the previous tune on the car made for the m62. Like steddy 2112 said support mods are a must to get the most out of it. The swap is pretty straight forward, minus the front bolts being hard to reach, the tuning is going to be the problem, depending on how far you've gone with the m62.

Am pretty sure someone will help you out or the search bottom will help you out to. But definitely you would need to find a good tuner for your project and some corresponding mods such as intake, header/dp, catback and injectors. Good luck though and welcome to the site.
Hey I have a question I just bought my TVS and am in the process of gathering parts to do the install. I have most everything but finding a ls4 throttle body seems difficult. I noticed BBK makes an aftermarket ls4 throttle body rated at 80mm is that too big? Does anyone know what the stock ls4 T/B is rated?
stock ls4 is 76mm iirc, the ls4 tb is not a must and the tvs can be ran without it. You can just search in the mean time for one as it is a 15 mine job to change and then go tune.

Thanks I would rather have one on and get the whole thing done at once. I didn't realize it was so hard to find a stock one.
I was acctualy thinking about getting a TVS myself..Would anyone care to write down a list of parts to SUPPORT the TVS i dont wanna go blowing up my car and stuff but i would alost like to get around 320FWHP..if possable..but i think thats like on the razors edge of the TVS..pushing it muhc?
okay well its not needed anyway but
and hmm quad pass..for some reson that sounds better then dual pass.haha
thats honestly not much for the blower..a few things and thats it..it can run off stock exhaust and what not

Lol.. well.. actually.. yes.. it is needed..
To run anything efficient on the TVS you need ALLLL the cooling you can get.. period.
Well, i was thinking you were just talking about the motor, sorry..
Id go with long tube headers to get power throughout the entire rpm range, not just up top.
Id do everything 3" from headers on back.
And also, the longer the coolant is touching the enging (4 times), the hotter it will get..
If it only passes that area twice (reducing the amount of time it is near the engine) will net cooler temps.
