TVS experimenting again

so, i got a wild hair up my ass and put the 2.75 pulley on the car.

dropped the timing way down, left the fuel alone. seemed like a good idea at the time. it's cool to tell people you are running "autometer" boost levels. or pegging the boost gauge. which ever way you look at it.

airflow went through the roof. to be expected. as well did heat. wicked heat increase. toe in at 108 degree's. top of third 149 degree's. not good at all. 41 degree increase in temps before and after the blower. i feel really sorry for people running this pulley without meth, or a bigger heat exchanger.

the added heat is not worth it at all.

idc hit 83% at 7300 rpms. on the edge really. less than steller timing as well.

witt. i had to find out for myself.

So you think this is best for most of the TVS guys Area.. to run the 3.1" pulley instead of the smallest one?

What kind of IAT2 increases do you see from cruising till the top of 3rd with the 3.1" at 17.5psi?

that is if u had same mods now etc. exhaust, meth, cams as u did on stg2 or something similar 2 stg2
If i had to guess I would say 260-280whp vs 320-330whp m62 vs tvs on a similar pulley with similar mods.

Edit - guess you deleted that. lol

in all honesty. im tired of pushing the **** out of the engine itself. thats why im back on stock cams, thats why i dropped back to the 3.1. to me personally, it's not worth it anymore. other people will do what they want, im just giving a warning, more detailed than what someone else told me a while back about it.

I'm happy with the 3.1's performance. Still stock clutch and holding strong. Dunno how. 18 psi on the TVS is enough for me. Chris knows my next route (shhhhhh)

are you logging your fuel pressure or have you recently checked it? I have no idea why your car has such a low idc, mine was loosing fp with the 2.75 up top and i know allen was experiencing similar things even with 79's.

newp, not loggin fp. that wasn't my concern. it was the sudden spike in heat that was the killer. remember, you guys were not running meth at that time. i am. the idc is too close to 85% for me. i have the log saved at home. i'll glance at it again tonight

I was expecting that to happen.... once a blower... always a blower. There is always a line where the efficiency drops out.

It's not all the blower.... you can only stack so much air ontop of the crappy intake and head.....
