TVS question

so i will be installing my TVS here in the upcoming days..and ive heard that you have to grind down the MAP sensor so the TVS will fit? how do you do this? or can you just move the sensor out of the way? any help would be greatly appreciated..especially from people who have a TVS on their ss thanx

its the MAP sensor on the intake manifold. you have to grind down a little where the bolt holds it down. then turn the sensor clockwise and the blower will hold down the map sensor

You can notch the hole enough to rotate the sensor AND get the bolt back in it.. i prefer to have it bolted down, even if the sc holds it

take a dremel, and open up the head side of the hole (slot it) so that the angle support behind the hole is gone, so you can rotate the sensor from the 12 and 6 o'clock position (stock) to line up at between 8 and 2 or 7 and 1 o'clock, it has to clear the tvs and not run into the radiator hose. Be careful, I cannot send you piktars until next weekend and you will have to pm me i cant post them up. hen make an alloy tab underneath the hold down bolt I think it is a # 5 external torx (cant remember for sure) to locate the sensor properly.

so do they just cut the plastic down to rotate it? and thats it?

thanx snake..good picture of it.. so basically.. to see if i have this right.. i cut and grind down the plastic around the hole so i can simply rotate the map sensor out of the way of the TVS?

yes....if u see where i grinded down the bottom part...thats so the tvs will fit in there....the top part that i grinded out is actualy the new hole for the bolt to hold it down

correct..

the sensor has a nipple that sticks down into the intake, but it's round and o-ringed, so just rotate it

u still have to do some grinding....yes that nipple will rotate but unless u grind down the extra plastic...the tvs will not fit right and u still have to notch out a new spot for the bolt...otherwise your sensor will come loose
