When on the street do you really NEED 500 hp. Is it nice to have, sure, but honestly it is of no real use. I am not saying all 500hp cars are not streetable, just that it is excessive.

My buddy has a 500+hp 350Z that screams around the tracks. He has eaten a fair share of vettes and vipers. not sure how much he has invested, but he grins everytime he steps out of his car. That is worth it.

If I was rich I would have a 1000 hp cobalt that looked stock to pull up next to that guy in the viper, lambo, whatever and smoke his car to make him feel like an @$$ for spending that much money on a car

Actually if you read most of the thread fwd was mentioned alot in the conversation. It was the whole point behind me including ANY in my original post that you quoted, where i also continued to talk more specifically about the cobalt praying for traction with 500hp (hence useless in a street car)....

Make sure you are accurate before you jump down peoples throats.

I was 100% accurate thank you.

The ambiguity in your post left the door open for my reply.

This car has enough trouble getting traction stock, let alone with more than double the power. I would be surprised if with 500 hp you could get traction with any tire that fits on the car stock.
Driving in my buddies 570 FWD honda it is not worthless, especially when you have programmable boost controllers that will limit boost in certain gears and at certain RPMs. I would kill myself if I had to drive that car in traffic everyday with the six puck clutch and big laggy turbo but yes a low 10 second FWD car can be driven on the street just fine.

The Cobalt would need some good slicks rather then the pizza cutter stock wheels but yes it is possible.
