Umm...anyone have a chip on their car?
Hey guys. Hope I am not too much of a n00b here...LOL. But I am looking into a chip for my car I suppose. Just wondering if they are worth it. And what would you guys recommend as far as they are concerned.

the ebay ones are great if you want to fry your computer and lose performance. otherwise don't get one.\
if you're serious, i would recommend reading through the 2.0 section and learning about mods that will actually do something. if you have any questions let us know.

I figured I would get bashed. What a bunch of nice people we have here. Oh well I guess I will read into other options and try not to ask too many questions. I know there are stage kits but I just wanted to know if anyone made a reasonable performance chip.

you got 2 legitimate responses that answered your question. you're on a site with 30,000 members. most of which are little kids. you have to ignore the garbage, and take the useful info.

dude its the internet, dont let it get u bummed!, u have no god damn idea how many noobs come in here and ask about chips! we have a search button, as shitty as it is u can still find out a deece amount of info! pretty much everything possible performance related has been discussed at least once! and in this "chip" case, 1000000000x!

There was a time and a place where I could buy a chip and solder it into the ecu...but those days are gone...these cars need to be TUNED. Sorry. Save your money and go to a shop.
Get a smaller pulley. SS/SC works great with the 2.9" BUT have them dyno-tune your car. You will be very happy.

Yep, any performance "chip" you see online is a waste of money and will not work. If you are looking for performance gains, my suggestion to you is to look into HP Tuners and learn a bit on tuning these cars.
Who are you calling a little kid!
