Update before i hit the sack
ok so i spent the last 7 hours working on the project
turns out i need to go buy an engine houst, i had a very good plan not to need one but the bottom end wont come off, so im gonna go pick one up tommorrow once the stores open.
I removed all 31 bolts inside the oil pan that i thought held the crank on and i was wrong, ive taken out ever bolt holding the lower section of the block on, still wont come off.....
so im going to throw the head back on, and the pulley tensioner so i can just pick the motor out of the car and drop her on the ground so i can pry the dam thing apart.
then i should be off to the machine shop i hope....
there isnt alot holding the motor in, just a torque brace, motor mount and the tranny.
Wish i had the extra cash to do the clutch now to..... damit all

Just grab a couple friends and a fence post and some chain. Our engine don't weigh ****! Just pluck it out by hand! Hell me a 3 friends had to do this for a small block in a Camaro when our buddies hoist died mid-swap and a 350 is a HELL of alot heavier then the ECO is.
Well either way best of luck to you bro!

Just a heads up, the engine comes out from under the car not up out of the engine bay. The time to pull your engine is alot longer than you think. I had a mechanic friend help me and the process was almost 7 hours.

Now I will say that we took the tranny out at the same time and perhaps by not doing that it will come out on top easier. Of course I would suggest he wait to finish the project until he can do the clutch\flywheel or it is all coming apart again shortly after he puts it back together.

The engines in the 4th gen f-bodies are supposed to come out the bottom too , Ive pulled 6 out the top and found the wrong way to be easier than the right way if you dont have a hoist

all you have to do is unbolt the block from the tranny and remove the motor mount on the passenger side, my engine is hanging im having clearance issues i need about 1/4 an inch to pull it out, the flywheel is sticking in the bellhosuins, if you scoot the tranny back and inch and do what i did it comes out easy as ****

If ur tranny is still on that is the reason ur crank isnt coming out...your flywheel is directly bolted onto your crank shaft. Remove the trans and the flywheel and it should come off assuming u removed the connecting rods and timing chain stuff as well
