Update on my bent Ingalls TB

First off , a big thanks to Rob at Ingalls . Their customer service is 1st class and its clear they stand behind their product and customers . They did offer to replace my bent bracket no problem . I would have took them up on it , but Im going racing this weekend and wanted it on the car .....because it really does work WELL . So , I chose to modify my bent bracket . I re- aligned it and because once the steel is bent and re-formed , therefore weaker ....I welded 2 triangular braces . 1 on the end that the brace mounts , and one towards the front . Pics will show where . I bought new O-rings at Lowes and re-intalled the brace . So far , so good and back to no wheel hop I'm gonna keep in contact with Rob on how it holds up .

Ahh yes, the "I bend this bracket and need it NOW, so I'll weld some braces to make it work" senerio. We did something exactly like that in my auto class... only with my friends motor mount. It looks like you know your way around a welder, did you use a mig welder?

With that ETD fit on an '06? The motor mounts look a little different.

Nice fix, but keep an eye on it. Welding is extremely burtal to the grain structure. Ever wonder why the metal will break before a weld does? It's not because the weld is stronger, it's because the metal was weaker than it was before. (I learned that in my Properies of materials class this last semmester)
