don't go with the bigger idler pulley, all I've seen is problems running those.
To stay in a safe range and decent power:
60lb siemens flow matched injectors @$220
Bosch injector harness adapter @$49
ZZP Interchangeable pulley system hub with pulley (2.85) $99
ZZP Adjustable Tensioner $49
GM Stage II belt @$38
tune anywhere from $99-350 depending on dyno tune or friend.
That should give you a nice bullet proof 250whp setup on a decently safe tune and all good parts that you won't have to worry about.

You say that the stage kits are "played out" but the reason why everyone gets them is because they still keep the warranty and are a pretty good deal for what you get.
A good tune can cost half as much as the stage 2 kit, and you need a good tune to keep the engine from killing itself. I would start the whole planning process by finding out where you can get tuned and how much that will cost, the tune will have a huge effect on how well your mods work.
You can get a stage 2 kit off ebay for around $450. I'm not saying that is what you should do, just keep that in mind, cause if you still have warranty left you might want to keep it.
just my 2 cents, your reality may differ

2.8" pulley

Running 60lb injectors will allow you to add items like full exhaust and CAI without worrying about running out of fuel.
