Hey Fill, welcome to the boards. As far as upgrades they are few and far between so far. But word has it Chevy will be revealing Stage 1 & 2 upgrades for the Cobalt SS.
-K&N and other intake companies are working on air intake kits.
-Magna flow has a catback in the works.
-TOG will be releasing headers shortly.
-Check the sticky above for a 3" catback exhaust.
-You can get pullies from south florida pulleys.
-PSI-FI is making a kit featuring a: pulley, ecu piggy bag, and eh something else I believe.

By the end of the year there will be plenty of choices. I am going to have patience and get one of the chevy upgrades once they come out. Thats probably the best bet for $ per hp invested.

Yeah, i'm waiting for the GM upgrades myself too (my father opted for the extended warranty ). Stage 1 is supposed to consist of 230 hp right? What does Stage 2 consist of and how much do you think it will cost us? After that, I'm thinking about getting the TOG headers, an intake, and exhaust, then I shall be done, until I get used to the power that is and want more.

From info on this board, Stage 2 will be around 280hp and will involve replacing the clutch. So I'd be shocked if stage 2 was under $2k.

Damn replacing the clutch too? Well 280 hp is a lot. A clutch alone is around 500. AHHH I have to start saving and stop spending my money on stupid stuff. 280 sounds very appealing, let me tell you.

Unfortunately our clutch is by no means a "racing" clutch, way too soft for that and too many people have had problems already, myself included, I read somewhere the clutch is rated at 250hp, but I think it is closer to 225.

I fyou compare the clutch in the SS to the sach's unit in the SRT that is a good clutch, many have been fine up to 300hp and mine is holding for now behind 360whp, I really dont wver thing the SS clutch would even come near to that...

Anyone know where we could find statistics on the clutch's HP rating...just curious if the one in the SS/SC is the same as the one in the non-SS in case I decide to start boosting HP...I'd hate to drop in a S/C or turbo in my LS and blow my clutch out the bottom of my car.
