Do all 07 cobalt ss/sc come with the upshift light? Either I don't have it or it's not working.

 

I dont think any 2.0 SS/SC have an up shift light

 

No SS/SC has an upshift light. They never have, so yours is fine.

 

not that i know of... I have never seen a light come on when i need to shift.

On the model that only comes with stick they dont have an upshift light. I only really care about maximum mileage seeing as i get like 17mpg in the city.

they do have one. it comes on 3 rpms away from the rev limit.

 

If you want gas mileage, may I ask why you bought an SS/SC?

 

they really arent bad for gas mileage i dont know why your hating... i mean compared to say an aveo or hybrids yeah but they are pretty dec. for an economy car, ive even heard of people getting better mpg ratings then the factory said

Not saying I dont believe you, but I have hit my limiter 3 times in the life of the car and have never seen it come on.

I know my Basebalt had one....

 

if you only care about gas mileage, why would you be looking fora shift light that comes on right before redline? redline is not the place to be if you like gas mileage

i get over 30 mpg on the highway. for a car that's decently quick i think that's damn good.

some one has a video of it too. Its in the upper right hand side and it comes on just briefly. My searching skills suck so I couldn't find it. I personally have never seen mine and I hit close to redline on my morning merge into traffic. I'm also paying attention to the road not my instrument cluster......so who knows

ive hit rev limiter alot and it never comes on, it is there though top right.

i heard it only comes on when you are pushing the limits of the engine and risk blowing it to turds. meaning it may come on at a higher rpm then rev limiter

 

I know my 05 has 1 its small on top right hand side looks like a gear.

 

Ive read on a few other fourms the light is for the stage 3 kits. The light comes on and stays on When the engine is in the hi octane setting. Not 100% sure that just what I have read.

 

I'm not really "worried" about gas mileage. Its just when i drive stop sign to stop sign i get like 16-17 mpg... not really bitching was just wondering about the upshift light so i could use it when i'm just riding slow. I thought I read in the manual that it tells you when to shift for maximum mpg, but i guess just for the lt/ls.

For all of this I could have gotten a mustang gt v8.

 

if you want better gas milage for city have someone turn off the boost in first til 4000 rpm... my milage went up about 3-5mpg

 

Shift at 2k rpm, you'll have the best MPG ever. Right now im sitting at 42 but im also a 2.2 sedan.
