using meth

to those guys using meth, are you running it everyday, meaning you dont have tunes you switch out for track day?

1badBlueberrySC Feb 11, 2009 06:46 PM

I run it all day everyday... or anytime I am over 4psi

ssyellowss Feb 11, 2009 06:47 PM

oh yeah thats another question i had lol. what pressure are you activating it? how hard is it to tune for?

tdipowered Feb 11, 2009 06:47 PM

lol i cant wait!!!

is it hard to tune for.... well it's not easy!

ssyellowss Feb 11, 2009 06:51 PM

lol. a knowledgeable tuner shouldnt have too much of a problem?

well mr. wizard why ask if it's easy!

Hockeyman Feb 11, 2009 06:58 PM

every day, but only when i get on it.

tdipowered Feb 11, 2009 07:30 PM

i cant wait to get meth

same here :)

freakta Feb 11, 2009 07:43 PM

i have it set for rpm and throttle position. i dont think i have it set for boost.

anyways its great just make sure your tuner knows how to use it

tdipowered Feb 11, 2009 07:53 PM

really how? ^

ssyellowss Feb 11, 2009 07:55 PM

i thought it was boost activated????

tdipowered Feb 11, 2009 08:00 PM

yea thats what i was thinking

freakta Feb 11, 2009 08:05 PM

the kit i got had a controller on it.

at 3k rpms as long as im more than 1/2 throttle it starts to pump 50% power then at 4k rpms its at 100% pump power

tdipowered Feb 12, 2009 01:24 AM

yea thats the progressive the base kit comes on all at once at a set psi

1badBlueberrySC Feb 12, 2009 01:43 AM

Yes that is the difference between progressive and boost activated.

Boost activated setups are more simplistic, less to go wrong with!

Sharkey Feb 12, 2009 02:05 AM

there is also progressive boost activated, like the devils own controller. it comes on 15% at the low set level and ramps up to 100% for whatever you set it. its kind of pointless for a supercharged motor though because your supposed to have it set for max flow at 3/4 boost, but with our cars the boost goes up to around 3/4 of max boost just by stepping on the throttle, and it ramps up a couple more psi till you hit redline.

i run an on/off boost switch set at around 8psi running a 2gph nozzle with 20% meth on a stage 2 tune with a 2.9" pulley. no issues, doesnt run stupidly rich, basicly just running it for cooling and the little bit of meth stops the pcm from pulling 2-3* timing that it pulls with the meth off.

cobaltss86 Feb 12, 2009 02:14 AM

drugs are never the answer

freakta Feb 12, 2009 07:31 AM

meth isnt a drug hahaha its a lifestyle chioce

Here's a question I've always had and still bugs me.

You have to tune for it. So what happens when/if you run out? Does it pump air in or is there and auto-off? How does this effect performance?

Just thinking cuz I know there are times where you just don't get around to buying more of something.

If you tune for it, and run out.. You have the chance of massive heat.. and massive knock.. which, as you know, is very hard on motors.. ;)

yea if your tuned for it, you would make time to fill it up. Or your motor may blow.

^^thought as much...lol. Thanks for the info.
