valve cover breather

Exclamation valve cover breather

does this really work & is it worth buying i no its only 30 bucks but i wanna make sure its functional. if anybody has one chime in please.

I seen one time someone had one on a COTM or whatever.. it turned into a big argument about it..

But from what I remember, I *believe* everyone said if you just slap that on there, then it's worthless. They said if you put a valve cover breather on instead of the oil cap, you ALSO need to do something with the vacuum line coming off the back of the valve cover.. the one that connects to the intake.. Don't exactly remember what you're supposed to do with that though.

It's post maf so it needs to be blocked off on the intake, however the PCV valve in the intake manifold is just going to be pulling in unmetered air afaik.

So if you put the breather on the valve cover where the oil cap goes... then cap off the nipple on the air intake.. What do you do with the nipple on the back of the valve cover?

You could probably put another small breather on the valve cover nipple, Autozone has small ones for $10. I always left my PCV system alone, with the TVS and now a turbo @ 140k never had any issues pushing oil or blowing my dipstick out.

Me either.. although mine was stock for 60k miles.. stage 3 for about 5k and TVS for about 5k..
