Aftermarket rings are thicker (when used with the proper pistons) to provide higher tension against the sleeve. (a popular LSJ replacement are taller as well) Stock rings are designed with fuel economy in mind.

were is the best place to get a oil cap breather cuz i know autozone sells it but whats the difference if i get it somewhere else

I got my oil cap breather from ZZP, it's under the Grand Prix GTP stuff... PFYC also sells them...

It's the 3800 or LS1 oil cap fitment, I don't think that Advance Auto would sell it... Maybe a generic clamp on breather, but not an oil cap one...

okay i never used one of these before or anything.

so this one fits the balt no problem

and hood closes and all no problem. it just repacles the oil cap?

also if i run this and the lil filter on the back of the valve cover and remove the line going to it from the intake its all good? or no?

leave the stock pcv system in place the valve cover vents do not work and will cause a lean condition
