As some have noticed I have put up several items for sale. The reason of this is because there were major issues concerning building a strong enough version of the MU3 (F35). We do have a company willing to cut new input\output shafts and gears out of 9310 steel. The bad news is, because it is a one off item I would be required to pay the cost the tooling needed for this process. That pushed my cost to $9,000US plus import fee. The unknown extra costs and time factors pushed this option in to the "no way" column.
I also discovered that the only way to have driveshafts strong enough for this amount of power, is to copy what was used in the phase5 Cobalts. I should have just accepted this long ago and for others planning for big power just plan that into your cost.
All things considered, I chose to give up on the MU3 tranny and go with a much simpler route. I don't expect this new direction to be cost less money, but I will be able to replace parts much easier if (when) something goes wrong. I can't say what I am doing yet, but the majority of guys/gals will be happy with the results.
On top that news, Keith Losier of Desired Customs (think RHD Cobalt) will be responsible for doing the custom work inside my car. I am going for a nice look that says daily driver that is meant to go really fast. There won't be much excess weight added, so no killer audio or video going on. A reasonable audio upgrade is up to Keith's discretion. I won't have a back seat because of the roll bar and Keith will be getting creative in that area. Somewhere in the back will actually be case for my helmet. Keith will also be doing a custom console for me as well as giving the car a real paint job. The car will stay Victory Red and will also have a ghost image on the sides. I am really looking forward to see what Keith creates.
As well I have a couple of magazines who have stated their intent to feature the car when it is done.
When the car leaves Toronto it will be 100% completed other than obvious regular maintenance. If there is enough interest in having a meet to see the car before it comes home, I will fly out to do so. Please check out this other thread and let me know if the trip is worth the cost.

My man you have a lot of resources avaiable to you. Good for you. Also nice work on bustin your ass to utilize every available resource for this car you could find. Good luck with your project. I would imagine that we will see this cobalt in magazines soon enough. Have you contacted Motor Trend or magazines like that to put some national press on your car ? You should be in marketing mode now and it will alleviate your costs substantially.

Sick man, this is gonna be one sick Cobalt. You said something about a high strength drive shaft ... There is a custom drive shaft shop about 20 minutes from my house, I've seen some sick track-day cars on trailers go in and out of that place. I can get a number if you are in a bind there, but New Hampshire could be a bit far for you lol. GL

Mini Update, update
Because of my secret weapon, the 6pt roll cage is no longer sufficient. We are now going with a complete NHRA sub 10 second roll cage. We are now expecting 1/4 mile times that put me in direct competition with Whitfields Cobalt
