WARNING * E3 spark plugs*

Hey guys I've been floating around this forum lately and it's helped me ton with my cobalt ss/sc. So I thought I'd just throw this out there to keep others from doing damage to their cobalts.

I installed E3 spark plugs in my car about three weeks ago. And they worked great for bombing around town and my typical short drives here and there, but over Christmas I drove approx 4 hours straight with them at (135km/h) on cruise control which caused one of E3 spark plugs to melt. The piece that melted off then hit the piston and bounced back up and broke off my exhaust valve. So save yourself time and money and stick with the AC delco.

Hope this can save someone else te hastle that it has caused me.

Yeah there was a warning on here a while back about those. Products/Companies that false advertise like this need to be shut down. Hope you aren't out of pocket $$ too much.

I don't think its a case of cheaping out, more of people thinking they are gonna gain 10 mpgs with the E3's

I wasnt meaning to offend anyone, just trying to put out some helpful words so take it or leave it.

And where I live E3 are approx 3$ more over the NGK.

Lesson learned for me, just wanted to spread the word. Didn't know someone else has already brought it up.

So far it's crossed me 1004$ to put it all back together. Just waiting to get my head back from the machine shop.

Yeah it's kinda a pain in the ass but atleast while this happened I can spruce up the engine. "Head gasket, oil pan gasket, tensioner, timing chain, sprockets, cam and what not.

I had extra money kicking around since I sold my CTS V to buy a house and I scooped up my SS for a fairly good price.

Also being handy with tools has saved me any labor costs dealerships would be charging an arm and a leg for

Don't feel too bad. I did the same on my fourth gen - thinking the E3's would actually be better than the recommended AC Delco's, and I had issues until I swapped back to stock - and then I found that everybody on the LS1LT1 forum already had **** opinions about them.

Sometimes the only time you find stuff like this out is when it smacks you right back in the ass. Unfortunately yours included a valve.
