Warrenty work

So get this, I was dricing to edmonton on Thursday and out of no where I message on my desplay board saying power steering and I check the steering and all manual. Decide to stop check under the hood and every thing and start-er back up and fine. Not 15km down the road it cuts out again. over and over and over again. Take it to the dealer and they have to replace the whole sterring colunm becuase of an electrical problem. Anyone know anything about this???

ya you have electric power steering it can fail. sorry usually its the intermediate steering shafts that go and cause noise. its still not uncommon for the columns to fail. are they trying to make you pay for it?

well make sure that when you get it back that there is no clunking in the steering wheel as that is caused by the intermediate steering shaft being improperly lubricated. just make sure that everything is aligned properly and all that good stuff. other then that have fun

nothing really just one of those things. and its common among alot of gm vehicles for the intermediate steering shafts, ranging from the cobalts all the way up to the trucks
