Water/Meth Injection Questions

Can someone tell me what is the pros and cons of each water/meth kit, is there one that is better than the other or is it just preference or what? Which one is the easiest?

The snow performance kit sprays before the S/C, the TAG kit has a plate that sits under the S/C that sprays the meth/water. They say that the snow kit cools down the S/C. The TAG kits says that spraying after the S/C prevents corrosion on the S/C rotor blades. As to wich one is better, I have no clue. Probably the TAG. Someone with one installed will have to chime in here.

he was right on most of those.

the snow kit runs off you maf sensor, so it turns on a a desired amount of boost.. that is interchanable, you can also determine what percentage is sprayed at what boost levels.

the tag kit im not to familiar with, but i added 7-8 degrees of timing off mine, and jmac has added more then that with his...its a sweet setup

yah that what i thought, plus i though that our rotors had a protective coating to protect them from corossion and whatnot. i thought the old gen 4 s/c were the ones that corroded.

idk if i would run the chance of corriosion of the rotors for a few more hp. i believe they added 5 or 6 degrees of timing and iat2's dropped 20*

How is it having more contact time with the air...if anything it is having less time post blower due to lack of dwell time. Not to mention it will remove more heat pre blower since it is in the mixture as it is heated and compressed into the manifold resulting in a more homogeneous mixture.

Technically NO meth kits ADD horsepower...they allow you to tune it differently to make more hp and remove heat to allow you to make that more hp longer.

Turbo's have the luxury of having extra piping post turbo to add it and their parts dont generally produce the heat ours do.

Not to mention the meth/water mix in the s/c actually helps compressor efficiency of the blower by helping to seal the blades to the housing and also lowering the incoming air temps thereby packing more air per unit volume.

The gen v s/cs are perfectly fine with meth running thru them...Mine has no rotor wear from meth at all.

I'm telling you man the plate after the SC is real good. I'm running their kit now and I get 26* timing and seen 25*F in temp drops. Plus the added bonus of a tighter belt.
The dual nozzles spreads the spray out evently.
From my heat transfer classes I can tell you the coefficient of heat transfer is much higher with denser gases.

id go with tags setup forsure.

You just use window washer fluid to refill it. I think most people say they refill it once a month depending how you drive.

I use the snow performance kit, and I spray pre-blower. I'm able to run 25+degrees of timing with 19-20lbs of boost, and see zero KR. Spraying before the blower does not hurt the gen V coating, and keeps the blower much cooler, allowing it to not be so heatsoaked. The water/meth evaporates just fine. Do you realize how hot it gets in that blower with a 2.5" pulley? Either way, I think any of the kits will work just fine, it all comes down to your preference.

I run 25.5 degrees of timing with 19-20 lbs of boost with zero KR as well. I just have to put 101 or higher octane gas in it and flash the race gas tune. Better IMO then spending $400+ on a kit that you have to keep refilling every 3-4 weeks Yeah, it prevents heatsoak, but who cares. As long as you have good enough gas, you'll be able to run the timing.

Yeah, I'd rather be able to run my "race tune" all the time vs only when I have race gas.

So does the TAG pump spray constantly while the engine is running at a low flow and the CA spray only at higher boost? I am confused as to what controls when and how much the pump is working.
